Documents for name change due to marriage

Post by S24558 » Tue Nov 27, 2018 7:55 pm

Hi there again,
So I am in the process of filling out the application form 8 for irish naturalization. In section 1.5 it says to give the reason why you changed name and then in brackets it says 'you will need to supply documents'.
Do I need to attach my marriage certificate for that? The original or a certified copy?
Thanks very much

I suppose it depends what the name change is for. I was married previously, so I submitted a certified copy of my divorce judgment, and then a certified copy of my marriage certificate to show my new name.
