Hello Team, I have a question regarding Citizenship E-Vetting. Today, I received the E-Vetting link, and in the online form, it's asking for my passport number. Here's the dilemma: When I filled out the form last year, I used my old passport details. Now that I have a new passport, should I update the information? Worried about potential data mismatch. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Use your new passport number. They are aware passports get updated and don’t require you to notify them when it happens. It’s done a lot and is fine.

Thank you so much for your prompt response. I've already emailed the Citizenship email address, providing my application reference and sharing both my old and new passport details for updating in their system. Now, I'm waiting for their acknowledgment of the email so that I can proceed with the new details. Is it correct for me to await their confirmation?

You may never get a response or acknowledgement. Or you may get a cut and paste response that has no relevance to your message. Or you may get a sensible response.

In either case they are unlikely to update your application with the new passport number. They don’t track it. They simply run digital checks with national passport issuers at the time they use it to see if passport data matches national registers. I think you are crediting them with far more database management than they are anywhere near close to being.

I’d proceed with the evetting, but entirely up to you. Whatever you do you may get another request for evetting in 6 months and then another email saying you’ve now got an ineligible evetting submission due to duplication. There’s very little about that process that adheres to common sense or professional process management.

Hi all,
I’ve got the evetting invitation and submitted my form but I haven’t received any confirmation email. I read in another post they got the confirmation mail second time they filled the form due to a mistake.

Anyway my question is, do you normally receive a confirmation email after successfully submitting your evetting form?

Appreciate the help. Thanks!

You will get one eventually, but no-one can say when. Each step in the evetting process after invitation has a finite limit to the number they can process- both the acknowledgement email and the the Gardai have a limit as to how many they can process at once.

Last May they sent out thousands of evetting invitations and totally overwhelmed themselves and the evetting process. It looks like they may have done it again.

If you don’t get an acknowledgement before it times out (eg within a few months) you’ll eventually (up to a year away based on 2022 applications) get a request to repeat the process.

Thank you, I understand I will receive an email for the next steps in due time but my question was more about receiving an immediate system notification that the form has been received successfully. That’s what it sounds like in this topic: ireland/e-vetting-issue-submitted-two-f ... 43556.html

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone else who submitted an eventing form this week and received a confirmation email could post a reply. But I’m not overly worried about it. Just curious now.

Hello all,
Sorry if i am asking this again as i didn't get any reply. I would be grateful if anyone has any insight into this:

i have received both eVetting emails in May and July 2023 and proceeded with all steps online. The issue is that I have never received any confirmation email saying that the disclosure is viewed, however, I used the tracking number and checked it online where it said the disclosure is viewed.
Is there anyone like me that finished all eVetting steps but never received the confirmation email?

Thank you for the reply. So it is not strange to not to have a confirmation email. Did you check your tracking number online to see if your eVetting disclosure is viewed and completed?

Hi all - apologies, I started a new thread before I found this really useful one.

I have received the email for Vetting, and the form is looking for:

Person ID in the format 123456-99 or 1234567-99 and an Application Number in the format 1234567-CITZ-01

I am a UK citizen and don't have a Person ID, and the Acknowledgement Number is in the format CITZ202312345678.

I can't work out how to get my Acknowledgement Number to fit the format they need? How do I continue the website without a Person ID?

I have had no reply from the Citizenship email address.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You don't have it in the acknowledgement letter on the top right corner?

Just checking: anybody still hasn't received any automatic confirmation email from ISD after submitting the e-vetting form sent on 08, Feb ? One of my friend got it immediately after he submitted the form (which makes sense because I'd imagine it's an AUTOMATIC procedure), but I still got nothing. We both submitted the form on 09, Feb.

No, I applied online so have never received any letters.

The acknowledgement email, and other emails only has an Acknowledgement Number which is in a totally different format, and no Person ID.

Oh I see not sure though . I applied with the papers application.

If you have any other communications with the immigration service in Ireland , you should have a designated person ID . Even before you submitted your citizenship application.

Maybe try sending an email to :
citizenshipvetting@justice.ie

I guess the system was overloaded with people submitting the forms at the same time!

I wouldn't say December lol. May be June yes, but I have heard there is another ceremony scheduled in March.
