Does anyone know how long Garda vetting takes? I submitted my details on the 7th of Feb and it's still in progress, however I did disclose criminal convictions and one of them is overseas but all over 7 years ago.

Hi all - does anyone have an idea what the "Rejected" status means apart from what it says on the tin? I wasn't notified of the rejection and only found out when I checked the eVetting status.

I'm only guessing but it might be because of the addresses as I had varied addresses in some of the years but I'm not sure how to proceed with this. Can I just resubmit the form on the ISD site and wait to be invited again?

Something has caused a discrepancy between your identity, your information and the information they Gardai have. Could be as simple as an Eircode failure, DOB failure or they may believe they have addresses for you that you haven’t declared. There is a slim possibility they have several similar identities that may have become confused.

Wait until INIS contact you and give you instructions. Don’t submit again until you know what the issue is.

Thanks for the heads up, I just thought it was odd that it was rejected without any communication but I guess that the decision needs to make it's way to INIS first before the information is given to me.

Does anyone have a rough idea on how long it takes from getting eVetting "Disclosure viewed" to when the payment request arrives? Also, will this request be via post or email?

I was trying to figure that out yesterday based on the examples in the thread "2023 Citizenship Applications Timelines Only".

It looked to me like it was between three weeks and three (or even four) months.

Approval/payment request comes by post. It typically comes between a month and 2 weeks before the ceremony they (may) invite you too. So it depends which ceremony they have you planned for and when that is. We don’t know the annual schedule for ceremonies for 2024, but it’s possible they may look loosely like the 2023 schedule.

To save people’s mental health it is entirely possible they send an invitation before a ceremony that you then don’t get an invitation for. I suspect this is because they send more approvals than they have ceremony places and see how many ceremony acceptances they get before sending another batch of invitations.

But the basic point is that they now tend to send approvals in a mass batch in the run up to a ceremony. So time between Disclosure Viewed and approval letter isn’t really a reliable metric; that part of the process time isn’t linear. Approval to ceremony is a little more predictable as this seems to the linked processing prompts.

Is it normal for E-vetting process to stay in ( In Progress (NVB) ) for so long? it's been like that since the 4th March .

Anybody have any idea of when the next batch of approvals will be sent out, it’s been months now since I they sent approvals out? Waiting over 2 years is terrible, is there anyone waiting over 2 years just want to know that I am not alone?

I have been waiting since August 2021. I had my E-vetting disclosure viewed on 29 November 2023.

Hi,
I have a question regarding Vetting invitation form (NVB1) using INIS Online portal. I've submitted my application for naturalization in October 2023, few days ago received second acknowledgment letter with Person ID number and Application No.
Recently I've also received an email called "Citizenship E-Vetting Process (CMUB)". Compare to previous email with acknowledgment this one looks a bit different and strange.
  • In 1st letter I was addressed by name, while in the second one as "Dear Applicant"
  • In 1st letter there was a footage with contacts and address in both English and Irish, while the 2nd one is solely in English.
  • There are no direct links in the 2nd email, even to www.irishimmigration.ie, all are rewritten through "departmentofjusticeandequality.newsweaver.com"
I've checked my INIS Online portal and there is nothing new there.

So my question to the people who went through the process - does this email looks legitimate or more like a phishing email?
How proper Vetting invitation form looks like and how it is requested for online applications?
Or am I just over-paranoid and this is just how INIS IT infrastructure works?

That sounds like the same email I received however in mine there was a link in this section I bolded what is the link in mine:

An up-to-date Garda report is now required. You are now required to complete an e-vetting online form that can be accessed through this link:

Application process completed 29 March 9:29

In Progress (NVB) 29 March 9:00

In Progress (NVB) 4 March

Thanks, may I ask what your status was before the "In Progress (NVB) 4 March" ? Mine was "Application submitted to NVB for processing 28 Feb" immediately before "In Progress (NVB) 4 March", and there was NO "Application scheduled for completion" stage.
