Hi guys,
I just received the acknowledgement letter asking for two specific things

1.- Prove my girlfriend and I have been in a durable relationship (we sent pictures, a letter from our landlord and a friend, receipts from holidays, our payments book rent with both our names on it) but it seems that is not enough. They are asking for jointly-owned assets or shared bank accounts or insurance but we don't have those so we don't know what to do in this case
2.- My girlfriend and I met during covid times so they are asking for a justification of how we met when there were restrictions level 5 (I remember at that time people were going to parks and stuff) and my house was 5.9km far from where we met.

Have you been asked the same or similar questions? Do you know what I could do?

Send them copy of your phone chats,social media chats, copies of tickets you both travelled together, you can add a cover letter explaining your partner lived nearby with copies of your utility bills showing your address and copies of her utility bills. Then you add your rent contract or utility in both of your names when you lived together.

In each year till you both arrived in Ireland, send 2 months of the above.

Don't be surprised because even with married couples sometimes they ask for proof of relationship before marriage. It's only in Ireland who don't go by the EU requirements.

I received the approval letter for EUTR1 recently, sharing my timeline here:

Date of application: 29/05/2023
Date of application received: 31/05/2023
Date of acknowledgement letter sent: 19/06/2023
Date of temporary Stamp 4 approval: 15/07/2023 (Received after 1 week)
Date of final approval email: 13/11/2023
Date of final approval letter: 21/11/2023
Date of Stamp 4 EUFam: Pending

I also received an email asking for 2 recent payslips of my spouse on 08/11/2023. I guess that means application is in final stage.

Did you send the extra letter asking for temporary stamp and acknowledgement ? I am experiencing the same but I am a month later than you but havent received any intimation from them.

Ask for a temporary permission, that’s what we did.
How did you ask for a temporary permission, was it via post or email? What permission where you on before? If you don't mind my asking

Best you ask for it via email and registered next day delivery post. Just say you need a temporary stamp to apply for a job. This method works mostly on EUTR1 applications.

Your letter or email should include your personal ID or application number on your acknowledgement letter, your full name and address.

If you are applying for EUTR via relationship route, the ISD have right not to issue you a temporary stamp for the whole 6 month deadline. They can say they have to check if your relationship is genuine

However you can try to send them an email or letter requesting a temporary stamp because it's affecting you financially or you have a job or school inline. Only do this if you have sent the necessary required documents and good evidence to proof your relationship.

So it is up to their 'discretion' ? Yes I do have 2 jobs in line and few interviews. It is effecting me financially and thus my partner also. Also, I cant wrap my head around whole 'good proof' and getting very anxious. BTW I did send a letter requesting the temporary stamp and acknowledgment. Thanks.. DO you think there is an element of "upsetting the representative and messing the case up" ?

Yes it's their discretion to issue you a temporary stamp since you fall under permitted family member (de-facto partner). Your relationship has to be proven. They normally want you and your partner to be in the state for 6 months to prove it's genuine.

It's good you requested for an acknowledgement and temporary stamp letter. This won't impact negatively on your case unless you submitted less documents or your relationship is 'suspect'.

Since you have already requested for a temporary stamp thus if you did it properly, it's best you wait for 4 weeks then write them again via email and registered post.

Thats the part which scares me the most what is enough. It is 4 year long relationship. Its already 3 months since I applied. I hope I get some communication soon.

Hi I applied earlier this year for EUTR1, and have been waiting since.

I have temporary stamp expiring this Friday 9th December and still have not received the final decision on my application. My HR is on my back and I won't be able to work if I will not have valid permission to stay.

I have emailed EU Treaty rights a few times in last 2 weeks but have not heard anything back.

Do you think I have a chance of getting a decision this week before friday

before expiry of my stamp?

Also, can I apply for temporary permission using previous letter while waiting for their final decision incase, they don't get back witha decision or an amswer by this friday?

AFAIK, the letter usually states that they're granting a permission "for 6 months (for example) from the date of this letter" - there's no basis for you to get permission if that's the wording they used, unfortunately.

As Meself2 stated, the letter is not valid anymore after you have registered with it.

It would be best you reach out to the EUTR unit via registered post, if possible nextday delivery and explain to them it's causing you financial problems. The EU citizen can be the sender.

It's possible they can issue you the decision letter within a week or couple after your temporary stamp has a expired. Mostly with EUTR1 applications

In order to know you are on final stage and a decision
is due, for some reason they ask for payslips of/ + bank statement of the EU citizen even if you already sent them one of these documents.

They emailed and asked for recent payslips 2 mknths ago and I sent everything and they replied with an acknowledgement.

I was hoping of someone has gone through the same procedure recently and could shed some light on these delays (not a delay yet).

Hi, I got the same letter asking exactly the same. First time, we sent pictures, proof that we live in the same address and print of our conversations on social media. After received this letter, we did a kind of dossier telling our relationship story with more pictures and print of conversations. Also, two letters from our friends saying we are in a truly relationship, a health insurance policy with both our names and the RTB register. It has been 6 weeks since we sent it and didn't get any answer till now. Do you guys know how long does it takes to get a response? I just hope to get it soon. They received our documents on 09/08/2023 and we received the acknowledgement letter asking for documents on 10/10/2023.

Any specific experience with EUTR1A ? with EUTR1 at least people have a marriage certificate and some state is involved (if not Ireland) yesterday I lost the job offer because even the acknowledgment haven't been received. I am on the cusp of thinking if this in the territory of discrimination against people who aren't married or cant get married. last line is a rant and I am sorry for that.

If it's EUTR1, you have right to request for acknowledgement and temporary stamp atleast after 2 months. Unfortunately it's not favourable for EUTR1A applications. For this category the EUTR unit have the upper hand and can decide to give you a decision or follow up after 6months.

The acknowledgement letter arrived today with 9 months temporary permission. They asked for bank statements in my name. I didn't know that I could open a bank account before I had a stamp.

My acknowledgement letter was without temporary permission but I guess that's because I am EUTR1A and EUTR1. Best of Luck. You can can open bank account without stamp. Actually for the IRP (like stamp 1 Stamp 2 etc) you have to pay 300 euros by card so you can open an account wihout IRP

The acknowledgement letter arrived today with 9 months temporary permission. They asked for bank statements in my name. I didn't know that I could open a bank account before I had a stamp.

You can open AIB basic account online but you will need your landing stamp still valid (normally 3 months) with the wording EUTR for residence or to apply for residence endorsed as the purpose of visit. They use this as proof of residence if you don't have IRP during your 3 months of arrival.

I don't know why they asked you for your bank statement for EUTR1. Normally it's for the EU spouse.

They are aware you can not work without the IRP and all employers will ask for your IRP unless you were already in the State before you became an EU family member.

What do they need your bank statement for? Proof of residence or to show you work?

Are you sure they require the EU citizen's statement and not yours?

I emailed them asking if they have received my application and asking for temporary permission and they responded by saying that they received the application and I should expect correspondence 4to6 weeks from date of receiving the hardcopy application. Nothing about the temporary permission
The correspondence/acknowledgement letter might come with a temporary stamp 4 letter or request for additional documents or both.
The acknowledgement letter arrived today with 9 months temporary permission. They asked for bank statements in my name. I didn't know that I could open a bank account before I had a stamp.
You can open AIB basic account online but you will need your landing stamp still valid (normally 3 months) with the wording EUTR for residence or to apply for residence endorsed as the purpose of visit. They use this as proof of residence if you don't have IRP during your 3 months of arrival.

I don't know why they asked you for your bank statement for EUTR1. Normally it's for the EU spouse.

They are aware you can not work without the IRP and all employers will ask for your IRP unless you were already in the State before you became an EU family member.

What do they need your bank statement for? Proof of residence or to show you work?

Are you sure they require the EU citizen's statement and not yours?

They said bank statement showing irish home address in the name of the applicant. Applicant was underlined. Maybe my english is failing me and I'm misunderstanding their meaning? I initiated the process with aib, I'm waiting for their response. It is baffling why they asked for that as I'm obviously not working at the moment.
