EU1 form and cover letter our route so far

Post by robsters » Sat Mar 21, 2015 10:15 am

Hi

I just like to say thanks to everyone on here who helped me with advise back in December, we got my wife visa and been in Ireland almost 2 months now so we are planning to finally submit my wifes EU1 form. all i am missing is 2 pay slips so what kind of cover letter should i write? just need to state we will send these later on? i started my job 2 weeks ago, we have most our paperwork now to process this.

also if anyone can help on this......i have been told by the welfare office in ireland and also my family i should apply for Irish passport as i have irish family and background, if i applied for this how would it affect my uk citizenship and will it help my wife if i got an irish passport or would it affect the fact she enter ireland with me under the eu ?

Hi Robster,
I only sent my husbands application with one payslip, they need evidence that you are exercising your treaty rights in ur case working letter of employment n payslip, you might have to wait till you get paid n get issued a payslip. They will request more documents if they need it.

With regards to your irish citizenship, your best option is still the EU route, it's faster n more straight forward with no drama

@robsters Submit the application now and then submit the payslips whenthey become available at the end of the month. With current backlogs in immigration, it will take 6-8 weeks to get a reply anyway.

@tomboy Firstly you would need for your wife to apply for a visa to come to Ireland. Only then can you apply for EU Treaty Rights. Feel free to email me at my email address below or pm here if you like

thank you yeah we plan to submit the EU1 form this week, out of interest do we need a pps number for my wife for the form as it asks for a pps number i got one easily but they were reluctant to give my wife a pps number plus she on a stamp 3 so she not allowed to work in ireland at the moment so there no reason for her to have a pps number will this be a problem for the eu1 form?

Your wife doesn't need a pps just leave it blank, my husbands application was sent without one

Correct, leave the pps number blank, it is not mandatory or essential, just a request on the form. It will not effect your application in any way

Thanks everyone! yeah we will submit with what we have. we went to the Dublin immigration office tonight with our EU1 form and supporting documents we were greeted with the rude reception man told us WE SHOULD POST IT, i said well dont want to post my wife passport and marriage document, he said put it in the box here then i said well doesnt look like a very secure box to me, spoke to another lady she agreed with us that box is insecure we should post but registered mail, Is this what everyone else has done? i am nervious to post both our passports and our marriage document but i guess we have no choice? also my wife visa expires on 29th oF April will they extend this during the time they make a decision, i wrote a covering letter that we have all our documents just need the pay slips which i can forward on later.

any help or advise would be great also one last thing i have a p60 dated 2012 as i worked on cruise ships so the last tax p60 i have is 2012 again could that be an issue? also mentioned in my covering letter that 2012 p60 is the last one i have in my records due to working in international waters for 2 years (where i met my wife :) hehe

hope to hear some advise soon thanks everyone on here

Hi,

Don't worry about the posting by registered post, once it is by registered post, if anything went missing (which it wont) it would all be replaced. It is very unlikely that it would go missing.

Regarding the P60 from 2012, are you registered for tax in Ireland? If you are, you need to submit the most P60 and if you do not have this, request a tax credit certificate or P21 from revenue and this will be sufficient.

It wont go against you, but it will be of no benefit for the EU1 application

Hello!
Just a small query. I have applied for my Eufam Residence card 1 and got my 6 months temporary stamp. If I start a business can I employee my spouse within my business and show the job change in INIS department. what documents do I need? and is it ok if she works in my company?

Hi Appiah,

You will need comprehensive health insurance for your wife and yourself. Regarding how much money is sufficient, this is a grey area but a good sized lump sum of maybe 30,000 would be good. It depends on if you have other income. For example, an EU citizen may have no job but they could have a pension from another state which they receive every week and this would be sufficient funds.
