Extending Stamp 2

Hi,

My partner is hoping to extend her stamp 2 that has just expired. She is in part time education with a University in the US (she is a US citizen) and was here for work placement as part of a scholarship program.

Will she have any issues extending her stamp seeing as she completed her placement? Ideally it would be renewed until the end of the year at which point she will have graduated and should be able to apply for a working holiday visa.
