My estimation says that your passport should be printed in next 4 days. Let us see :)

Applied in mid of June. My estimated delivery date was 12th July :(
The tracker bar seems to have stuck at the same spot too!

What is the best way to reach out to the department? The chat doesnt seem to work.

Ignore estimated date. If it's in processing, you just need to wait.

Plenty people before you haven't received anything yet. They've only just moved into April/May

First time adult naturalized citizen.

I also applied for my child and sent documents the same day I applied for my own passport, but my child's application is still processing.
Chai have you received your child passport or any progress being made

Got my standard passport today, 26 July 2021.
Applied on the 10 June 2021.
Original passport, birth certificate and naturalisation certificate were returned a month later.
But they did not return certified translation of my Vietnamese birth certificate. Not sure why.

Hi Vorona
Can you please share when your documents were received by them and on what date status changed to 'processing' ?

An update for me. I’m applying with an FBR certificate.

Applied online: 9/7/21
Documents received: 22/7/21 (Changed to processing)
Estimated issue date: 27/9/21

It seems a realistic issue date.

My supporting documents were delivered on the next working day. I did not track it so can't say when status was changing.

By the way my original passport had already expired on the date when I applied, but it was still accepted by passport office and Gardai when witnessing my identity verification form.

Hi,

Yeah a first time passport application. I received my FBR certificate early July 2021, and then applied online the day after.

Based on reading others timelines, I’d be surprised if I get it before the estimated issue date.

- Applied for Citizenship July 2019
- Approval received first week May 2021
- sent docs/payment the day after for certificate
- Certificate received 2/07/21
- Applied for passport 2/07/21
- Docs received and the status changed to processing 6/07/21
- estimated issue date 27/07/2021
- the bar was 85% done by yesterday
- the bar changed to half this morning.
Strange and confusing!!!

If you are asking me!

No I have not received anything.

I wanted to know the reason behind this if the bar was 85% complete, why did they go ahead and pushed it back to half!!!

Ignore the bar now as it will go straight to passport printing status in the future.

Our timeline is similar and I was onto web chat on 26.07.2021. They have not scanned and then verified the documents yet so we will have to wait a few more weeks.

As indicated earlier, it never worked. Even pre-covid, this happened to a lot of people. Do not pay attention to the estimated date and do not pay attention to the progress bar. They were never accurate even in normal times.

Then why is that tool available to thousands of people?

Are they aware that many people check this everyday in hoping of getting an idea about the process that when more or less they might receive their never ending passport that is still in process.

They might laugh at us and say yeah brooo this is the right way to mislead so many people!

My message to them: Please stop testing those tools and systems on us.

Issuing an identity document is a very serious matter. Especially for the first passports where they need to verify supporting documents. Give them their 10 weeks. No need to overdramatise over the accuracy of the progress tool.

Read the small print: "*Please note the estimated issue date is an estimate based on current averages – it is not a service delivery guarantee".

What happens after the processing stage? Do you receive an email when the documents are scanned?

I think I agree with Summer 2021, I know citizenship is not entitlement but you are entitled to a passport as an Irish citizen. They have already confirmed our identity during the NATURALIZATION phase.
I think there is a famous solicitor firm who is taking DFA to High Court on unnecessary waits for first time passport

I also second Summer 2021 and request other folks not to try to be policemen ,he / she is right as why Bar is worngly calibrated as it creates unnecessary chaos.Alot of us check it 12 times each day due to many reasons like they have all our necessary documents.

Naturalization is a privilege but passport is a right and we should take dfa to cleaners if they delay our passport unncessarily.

No one refusing to issue you a passport or telling that it is a privilege. Wait until your estimated date, then try to make inquiries. If you need a passport urgently, apply for an emergency passport.
