At this stage I contacted passport office via webchat as I had a business trip 22 Aug and requested either original passport or new passport. They said they would pass up the line but could not guarantee. As it turned out the documents had already been posted

Notes: While it took way longer than expected to become an Irish citizen, I got very lucky with my passport. Compared to other 1st-time passport applications, mine was processed pretty fast.

This is what I did, hope it helps: I applied from Ireland through mygov.ie and followed their instructions by sending original documents and a color photocopy of PSC card. I sent 3 as opposed to 2 proof of address and name letters (revenue, cervical check, and the letter that came with my naturalization certificate). I used transparent folders with sticky notes to categorize my documents in order to make life easier for whoever got to process my application. Good luck!
