I applied for pregnancy acceleration on June 21, 2021, and I have never received any news until now. My wife will give birth around September 15

Your application is going through the Foreign Birth Registration process and this can take some time due to the complex nature of the process. You will be contacted by us when there is an update regarding your application.

That's what they said to me。I wonder if I will miss the application

Did you mark the documentation you sent in with big bold letters on the envelope saying "PREGANACY" or something similar? They took about three weeks to sort mine out once I sent in the required docs. Chase it up on the webchat as the passport people will help you with it, or at least they did with me.

Your application will be sent to be processed through our pregnancy team. The officer who is processing your application will contact you on the email address you supplied with your , My application has been processed by the pregnancy team, but they never sent me an email. I sent an email to ask about the progress. Their reply is always one: your application is being processed

Hi there,
I applied for FBR on 8th July for my daughter who was born on 2nd June and sent the documents too. But I didn't get any update if they received the documents. I am in India now and my older daughter will need to go back to school by end of August. I am unable to contact anyone from FBR or passport team. Do you have an email address that I can write to explain my situation. Any input is highly appreciated
Thanks

Summer 2019 applicant with December verification of address just received certificate and original docs returned today. Best of luck everyone especially those on the 26 months and counting since application and 7 months since we were told it is in the mail. Hope springs eternal. I am sure these guys on Team 1 and other teams have also been through the ringer with Covid and likely asked to pivot over and over again to put out various related fires. So appreciative to be moving on and wishing you all the best! ☘️🇮🇪

Congratulations! Must feel incredible after such a long time coming.

Not nearly the same, but I’m getting a little anxious about the timeline - received my address confirmation email two weeks ago as of today. An exciting milestone for sure, but it seemed based on the most recent updates here, it had been taking between 3 - 11 days to receive the official congratulations message.

Have already missed that window (and have some travel coming up, which would interfere with signing for the delivery), but I guess patience is the only answer right now.

I think what you're referring to is the "application received" email. The "confirmation of address" email will come once they are actually processing your application, which probably won't be for a few more months at least if you applied in 02/20. That's bizarre that you never got a confirmation that they received your application as that was before lockdown, but yeah maybe its related. I'd try to contact them via web chat just to make sure they got it.

The email is from noreply@dfat.ie

Good luck!
Ah yes you're right, I meant the confirmation of docs received! Sounds like most people got theirs through but I think there's every chance I just missed the email in my spam or problems due to COVID etc. I know it got to Balbriggan at least so hopefully it's the same story as @ripforreallldo.

Will try to get in touch with the webchat but looks like it's still down. Also agree with what @Flatcap_Julius says about keeping things in perspective. Easy to get frustrated with the crap service and lack of comms / tracking but hopefully most of us ride out the pandemic with our health intact and can wait it out a while longer.

Keep the faith all and congrats to those in the class of Summer 2019 getting the good news!

Hello, can someone tell me, when you apply for pregnancy acceleration, will members of the pregnancy team contact you via email?

Hi all, bit of a newbie here so please be gentle! Just wondered if anyone else out there is in my cohort by way of some reassurance -

Submitted my application on-line: August 2019.
Confirmation email of receipt of my documentation: 7 Oct 2019.

A lot of people seem to have been contacted in December 2020 but I've heard nothing at all since October 2019.

The timelines for completion really aren't making much sense right now. My documents were also received in October '19, and I'm one of the 'lucky' ones who received a confirmation of address email this month.

That said, based on every other timeline here, my certificate should already be on the way. Haven't gotten that update yet.

What I do know is I heard from the same team that was most significantly impacted by the second lockdown in December (Team 1), so it's possible the delivery timeframes for this team are way off what anyone else can reasonably expect. You also don't know which team has been assigned your case until you get that email.

It's a little frustrating, but there's really nothing to do besides wait (or use the pregnancy express pass).

Thanks dolewhip. Yes it does seem to be somewhat of a lottery despite the 'strict date order' website statement. I don't think I'll be getting pregnant anytime soon, being a 51 year old man and all. I hope you hear something soon and that the infamous 'Team 1' don't deal with my application. :D

I am a loonnnnggg time lurker here since February 2020.

I submitted my application on October 1, 2019 and I got an email from DFAT on October 9th, 2019 confirming that my application was received. Both of my paternal grandparents are from the eastern part of County Kerry and I sort of thought this was a slam dunk. Brexit delays and Covid have certainly had the last laugh. To make matters even more "interesting," the email I have on file with the FBR is no longer valid. I sent a letter to them a few weeks ago confirming that I haven't moved and I provided them with alternate email addresses. I can only wonder if anyone has bothered to open the letter.

So I wait and wait. It would be really grand if they provided just a little bit more communication on where things stand, what the backlog looks like, when they might be providing staff, how many applications they should be processing per day, etc. I just feel like these are basic questions that I would have to be accountable for in my own job if I were in charge.

Hi
I’m also new here. Sent my application in August 2019. Received confirmation about a week later at the end of August. Haven’t heard anything since. Did a joint application with my brother. Reassuring to hear some applications seem to be going through.

Seems to be a few newbies here so here goes -
Just going through the FBR for our 3 children. The parents each have an Irish parent, one of whom is still alive. We have his birth cert. but do we need a separate copy of grandfather's birth cert. for EACH grandchild's application??? OR can the 3 applications be sent together with the ONE grandfather's birth cert?

We see that due to CV19 no applications are currently being accepted but they are getting close to adulthood and we want them to have the freedom we had, like everyone else online here.

With thanks in advance for you help and patience.

I haven't done this myself (my sisters were aware of FBR years earlier than I was but they weren't interested), but this is a question on the DFA website:

https://www.dfa.ie/citizenship/born-abr ... cent-faqs/
Can my sibling and I apply for Foreign Birth Registration jointly?

Yes, you can use the same set of papers and supporting documents for both applications. Just enclose the two separate application forms in one envelope and send it to us with a letter saying that some of the documents apply to both applications. This only applies if you are resident in the same country when applying.
It sounds like your 3 children all live in the same country and have the same parents, so there is no point to sending multiple copies of the parents' and grandparents' documents.

I also applied on-line in Aug 2019, receipt of documents confirmed 19 Aug 2019.

Good - I paid regular postage from the US (2 week delivery) rather than paying extra for 1 week delivery
Better - it was still delivered in less than 1 week (4 days, including a weekend

Bad - I haven't heard anything since the Aug 2019 receipt of documents.

It's not personal - I did not get any email in Dec 2020, no confirmation of address, nothing.
