Congrats!! 31 months is a long one!
I also am planning to move to Italy from the US once my son finishes high school ( year and a half to go!)
Out of curiosity, where are you moving to? My wife and I are headed to Rome. (we lived there for 2 years previously)

April 2021!?

I'm March 2022. Getting hopeful that they'll be getting to it in the middle of next year now.
No more pandemics please!

I received my confirmation of address email on 4th November after my docs were received on 16th September 2022. Yesterday marked 3 weeks since the email. Unfortunately I’m still waiting for the congratulations email. Somehow these last three weeks have been an even more painful wait than the 26 months from application to address confirmation ever were. I spoke to my brother today as we submitted a joint application and the person who is dealing with ours sent him a blank email on 11th November. It could’ve been a complete mistake but I’m now worried he may have been asking for more details/ docs and we never got the message as most people seem to get their congratulations email after 2 weeks of address confirmation.

If it makes you feel any better, I received my address check email and a phone call on 21st October but have heard nothing since then. Fortunately I don't have any urgent need to obtain Irish citizenship so I'm content to let things take their course, with the assumption that my application is nearing its end.

According to the almighty spreadsheet, yours is a joint application with edinburghlass. Correct?

My guess is that they're going to complete verifying the docs for both of you before sending any congrats emails.

Yes, address check to congrats is often 1-2 weeks, but 3, 4, 5 weeks is not unheard of.

Wouldn't hurt for you both to reread your 'address check' emails and see if you missed something. Or perhaps there was another email from @dfa.ie.

Not with edinburghlass. My brother isn’t on the forum or the spreadsheet. I’ve read the email countless times over the past three weeks nothing other than address check on there. Think I’m going mad the number of times I’m searching dfa.ie in my emails as well lol. Unfortunately nothing to show for that. Just hoping I get the congratulations sooner rather than later.

Reading on the Facebook group that two people who had their documents accepted on 12th May 2021 have had their address checks today!

Annoyingly I can't remember my exact date, but I think my docs were received mid-June, so perhaps not long to go now...

Bloody hell. 2 days ago they were on Feb 2021. That is phenomenal. At this rate my January 2022 application will be seen to by early 2023 :o

Just got my first communication from the FBR staff for my infant son's FBR application!

Application submitted online: February 14th, 2021
Documents mailed: April 13th, 2021
Documents received in Ireland: April 26th, 2021 (according to the United States Postal Service tracking system; I never received any confirmation from the Irish authorities)
Request for updated photos of infant child: November 29th, 2022 (today!)

All the email asked for was updated photos of my son, so I assume there is nothing else to do and nothing wrong with the application. I'll send updated photos to the FBR staff later this week. Hopefully my son's FBR is approved by the end of the year.

But wow, can't believe they are already blowing through April 2021 applications. Very speedy.

and I received two requests for address, on top of nearly a month for bloody updated photos of an infant to reach the decision-maker. They create unnecessary bureacracy (e.g. updated photos) for no reason

I'm sure you're aware that child's appearance can change a lot in two years.

You're may be unaware that the photo becomes part of your FBR cert.

So that's why they're asking for updated photos.

Online App: Sep 1 2020
Docs Rec: Sep 15 2020
Address Check: Nov 1 2022
Confirmation: TBD

I was so hopeful with the short, handful of day, flows others have experienced, now I am hoping for a gift email from Santa. Any insights folks have? different teams, something wrong, some external group being delayed?

Hi, does anyone know what has happened to the (almighty) spreadsheet? I'm getting a message to say it has been deleted. It was there early yesterday

I know it didn't come with the obligatory 20 page data protection statement, but it would be really sad if we've had to remove it, it was such a great resource to show that progress is being made with the applications.

I wish I'd known this before I applied, my photos look like I've just been arrested on a murder charge.

Hello all, first contact from FBR team today, thought it might be of interest to some as my son was under 18 when we applied (barely, I rammed the application in hoping to save on the adult fee!) and of course is now an adult. I've seen others ask on here what happens in that case, and can report back that in ours at least, nothing much.

They emailed asking for my marriage cert (I don't have one, never been married, that's why it wasn't included in the package of documents - heads up for others, probably best to include a "I don't have a marriage cert, never been married" statement to cover that base!) for both children, applied with supporting documents for both as one packet.

Also in the email for the now-adult-child was a blurb about "I notice NAME is now an adult and as such may want to continue with his own application, please provide his address, email and phone number; or you may continue to act on his behalf". No request for adult fee, nor additional documents relating to adult/child change of status. We are of course continuing with Mummy doing the paperwork for him, lol.

Dates of note for our application:

Online application Mar 03 2021
Documents Mailed Mar 11 2021 (Canada)
Tracking received Balbriggan Mar 25 2021
No acknowledgement of receipt
Email requesting (non-existent) document for both children Dec 01 2022

I am not aware t of FBR certificates now having a photo of the applicant - the one issued to our eldest child in 2018 does not have one. Just like that weblink removed by moderator. Is this a recent thing?

Are we going to look much like our 2yr old selves either down the line? The updated photo request seems excessive. At what point should we fix a child's image?

My kid got Canadian citizenship by descent born outside of Canada, photograph on his citizenship card is of him at 11 days old. He's a 6ft2 hairy 19yr old now. He'll have to pull out that photo card for various purposes for the rest of his life if he doesn't lose it lol, no good to man nor beast for IDing him.

Paperwork received in Balbriggan May 19, 2021
Received email that they are working on it and asking for clarification.
No guarantees, but it is definitely being reviewed!
