Getting married in Ireland, should I ask for a VISA?

Post by mchiareli » Sun Sep 06, 2015 12:07 pm

Hi Guys,

I am from Brazil which it's not required a VISA to visit purpose in Ireland (90 days).

I came to visit my girlfried 1 week ago and I am going back next week, we have the marriage appointment to March 18 (2016).

I am planning to come one or two weeks before, not sure yet.

I am wondering if should I enter in Ireland as a regular tourist or request some different VISA, because I am not sure how long will take to get all my papers to be allowed to stay here more than 90 days.

Should I mention the marriage to the security on march, or just say I am visiting.

Thanks

i would not lie about it, apply for proper marriage visa and you wont have any problems later on when making further applications

Just called the immigration office, as they don't require a visa from Brazil I just have to show some evidences like that my gf works here, have a residence, and the marriage appointment in the airport.

So, no needs for a specific visa.

Thanks guys.
