How long can stay out ireland and europe

Hi my husband is moroccan wi live in ireland , he has residence card stamp 4 Eu Fam , how long can stay out ireland and europe So that his residence card is not affected ? Thanks .

6 months in every 12. Europe doesn't matter, only Ireland does (ie if he's in Europe, still counts as absence from Ireland).
Note you need to notify them if you leave for long.

The validity of a residence card is not affected by temporary absences from the State not exceeding 6 months in a 12-month period. You should contact EU Treaty Rights Division and your local registration office if you intend to leave the State for a period longer than one month.

It says in the quote that yes, for every stay over a month they have to be notified.
