Na33MKhan: congratulations. Who did you apply for and how long did it take.
I have given up waiting, my son in law is doing his English test and my daughter is using the UK route now. It's just so long...Oct 2015 he applied and still waiting.
It's so unfair as more recent cases are being processed quicker.

So it took 9 months after your documents reached dublin. I think from now on it will take only 6 weeks further. i submitted in September and reached documents in December. It took 3 months for me .. for you only 1 month. So im gonna expect mine after 9 months which will be in August :(

Salaam all hope you are well, thats the thing they pick and choose also with Naeem khan it has no link with UK plus he is working/paying tax in ireland which leaves them less reluctant to issue visa, the fact that it was processed long before hundreds who applied earlier is plainly unfair but due to brexit etc their best tactic is to delay as much as possible, the fact of too many applications is not believeable anymore because countries like Dubai and UK have ten times the immigration and half the waiting times. I wish everyone the best inshallah things go easier for all and we finally see our loved ones, and those who got visa may Allah give them a safe journey and a happy start to new life ameen.

Omg...that's so unfair....Are you going to appeal? It's a joke as you don't have to be in Ireland to exercise your treaty rights. I feel as heartbroken as you...really sad news.

My Last Post People.
My visa was EU Treaty Rights...
I don't like white irish people now
When i wanted a job there they were being dearly beloved.
Now they have proved their point by refusing my visa.
Qualification is not everything. Hard Work does matter.
Leave it whatever happened it opened my eyes.
Goodbye People.
Dont make the mistake i did.
I Hope all ends well for You...

That is sad news but dont take it personally and yes time far a me is unacceptable, if they refused in 6 months like they should have then it wouldn't hurt so much but situation is out of hand so they are being forced to make rules strict and refuse where they Can to reduce number of applications especially those linked with UK quite unfair nevertheless :(

Hi All,

I am french, working in Ireland since 16 months. I have posted the visa application for my wife who's from Ivory Coast more than a year ago.

INIS hasn't asked me for any documentation, they just keep on repeating 'The application referred to is currently awaiting examination' by email, when I am asking for news about my visa application.

EU Treaty rights are saying 4 weeks to be a reasonable time frame for issuing a visa for a spouse of European citizen (but should be asap anyway). How is it possible for an EU country to violate the law such a way, without any penalty, and without any compensation for the applicants ?

ASalaam o alaikum to all, just to let you know I have sent an email request to inis to request my wife's passport to be returned after 9 months (applied 18 July) had enough of waiting will keep you updated, hi totofr not sure how this works exactly but I have heard Eu countries can apply domestic immigration policies how they please, and picking and choosing which applications to process first like my room mates one in 3 months is just down right unacceptable and really sending out the wrong msg about ireland I told all I know that they are very kind and friendly people over there.

Hi, I would suggest you just take the passport back and let your case as it is in process. Hopefully it will be worth wait. I requested my passport from Ireland embassy as well, they returned my passport meanwhile my case is active, and i am in Qatar now. I had to travel for some personal issues. So just do like me.
For me it is my 8th month now since i submit my case and my 5th month since my documents reached dublin, ireland.

Good Luck!

Thanks for your feedback guys - BigBigIreland don't you think withdrawing your passeport will prevent your application to go ahead ? Cause I was thinking about that as well but I don't know tbh ..

tototr? No your application will continue as it is. It will not harm your application in any way. It is a rule of Ireland embassy dublin. They never ask for your original passport. Your original passport stays with Ireland embassy of your country in my case Karachi Irish Embassy. They keep the passport with them and send rest of the original documents were sent to dublin. If had any issue regarding my passport and all. why would they send me a message that they received my documents and now it is in process. Irish Immigration embassy sends green single to local irish embassy that is in your country to give this guy a visa. then they will call you and ask for your passport for visa stamping which takes 4 weeks or less. It might differ from case to case but this is what happened with me so far. My case is already running and i am out of the country i submitted due to some personal reason.

Here is the process of how to get your passport back so you can travel and work and not get STUCK!

- Call your local Irish Embassy where you documents were submitted. Ask them for an email ID where they can send a request email..

- Now write a good email explaining Irish Embassy that you need your passport back i n order to travel for some personal issues. I would send my passport back whenever my passport is required by Irish Embassy.

- Make sure you mention your mobile number, IRL number, Passport number etc and attach your documents in email. It makes easy for embassy to figure out your are real person and these documents belong to you.

- IMPORTANT: You need to send an email with an ID that was mentioned in your VISA application, THey will not reply you back if you send from a random email ID. And InshaAllah you will get your passport back with in 10 days or less. I got mine with in 5 days. They send you at your address or embassy, You need to collect yourself.

Regards! Don't lose hope! That's all what we have... You keep doing what you do and make dua you get visa. Don't with draw your application at any cost. You either get a visa or you dont! Imagine what if you get? Things gonna turn around for you and your family! Best of Luck! :D

Jumma Mubarak all, jazakallah for excellent guide bigbigireland but I've already sent an email so bit late, luckily I did mention I need to travel for a wedding from my actual email and provided all details inc name address visa ref and tel, also the fact that its been over 8 months and no correspondance or date application received in Dublin. But I sent my request to visa mail @ justice.ie. I am aware there is no issue with application by requesting passport because it just sits with them for over a year so makes sense.
On another note I asked a solicitor why it is that some applications are being processed before those who have applied much earlier! He replied they are in a different department for example I am in Eu treaty section, and others are domestic skilled visa section, so this explains some of the huge difference also the fact that they are quite behind in terms of only having one number system for all visas rather than a separate count for each section as many people ask why 29##### is being processed already.

Thanks for the heads up! Number system was confusion for lots of people here.
