When i can apply for Irish Citizenship

Post by jiyakhan7860 » Mon Mar 30, 2020 12:43 pm

Hi All.
I am living as EU Spouse on EUFAM 5 years RC in Ireland since 5 Feb 2017
I arrived in Ireland on 5th Feb 2017 from another EU Country on RC Card, on arrival i got entry type stamp, then i went out of Ireland for few days to UK and came back ireland on 15th March 2017 at that time i got a stamp saying register with INIS in 3 months that stamp valid till 14 June 2017, i applied on EU1 Form and got Temp stamp upto June and then on 1st Nov 2017 i got EU CIT CARD FAM Letter and got my stamp in passport on 16 Nov 2017 till Nov 2019 ( till expiry of my Pak Passport, which i renewed now till 11 Nov 2022. I have 3 questions now.
1. What date and year i will b able to apply for my Irish Citizenship.
2. What date i will apply for my permanent RC. EU 3 and how long application take for decision.
3. Can i go on holidays in 2021 for less then 30 days or no as due to rule for nationality that i need to b in Ireland for full 365 +1 days.
Just clarifying here i always only stayed less then 30 days out of ireland since Feb 2017 till 2020.
My EU Spouse always worked plus self employed in the state and v never claimed any benefit at all so far.

You only count the periods where you have explicit permission to stay in Ireland. This can be stamps on your passport or a permission letter.

Based on what you described:
- 15 March 2017 - 14 June 2017 -> 3 months
- 16 Nov 2017 - 16 Nov 2019 -> 2 years
That means you need another 2 years 9 months from 17 Nov 2019.

This gives you Aug 2022.

You can be out of the state for up to 42 days every year.

Thanks for ur reply.
Sori i m more confused.
I got 3 month stamp on 15 Mar 2017 till 14 June 2017 at Dublin Airport.
I got Temp Stamp 4 from June 2017 till Nov 2017.
Then i Got EU FAM 5 yrs letter in Nov 2017 but my passport had only 2 years left in expiry thats why i got stamp in my passport till Nov 2019 and now on new passport i got till Nov 2022.
What about can i go on holidays again in 2021. What bot wen can i apply for EU3 Permanent RC.
Thanks

Ok so just some minor adjustment:

- June 2017 - Nov 2017 -> 5 months
- 16 Nov 2017 - 16 Nov 2019 -> 2 years
That means you need another 2 years 7 months from 17 Nov 2019 i.e. June 2022.

Your reckonable residence is based on the Stamp 4 stamps shown in passport and/or the GNIB card expiry dates shown on your card. When you changed your passport is irrelevant.

As I mentioned, you can spend 42 days out of the state in any of the 5-year period.

Irish citizenship and holidays

Post by jiyakhan7860 » Fri Apr 03, 2020 6:05 pm

Hi I have a quick question I arrived in Ireland February 2017 on arrival i got 3 month on airport and got my first temporary stamp 4 EUFAM on 14 June 2017 my question is will my year start from February 2017 to February 2018 or June 2017 to June 2018. Or JAN 2017 TILL JAN 2018, 2019, 2020?
Now big confusion is i went out of country to Pak 2018, 2019, 2020 usually in JAN OR FEB every year but i also went abroad UK in middle but each time i stayed less then 30 days usually all in total if i start counting my days from Jan to Dec. But if i count my days June 2017 till June 2018, June 2019, June 2020 then according to that i m def well over 30 days. I m very confused , i will be very greatful if someone solve this question. Thnx
