Long Term Residency Permit

I am planning to submit an application for Long Term Residency (LTR) on Stamp 4 for 5 years on the basis that I meet the eligibility requirements under the administrative scheme of the Department of Justice.

In this regard, I would like to seek clarification as regards the following:

1. If I apply for Long Term Residency, should I still apply for renewal of my Stamp 4 permission if I do not receive LTR approval before my stamp 4 expires?
2. If I have been granted Long Term Residency status, will my spouse still qualify for extension of Stamp 1G permission on foot of my previous Critical Skills Employment Permit?
