Long wait for passport return (Nov. 2018)?

I sent in a naturalization application about three weeks ago (it was received--I have the confirmation saved). I've heard nothing whatsoever so far and am starting to get a bit anxious that my passport has not been returned to me yet. I know that the website indicates that passport return can take up to six weeks, but I've been looking at recent timelines on the 2018 thread and note that most people seem to be getting their passports back within a week or so of initial submission--and sometimes with a matter of just a few days. I'm becoming nervous, as a result, and find myself wondering if it's been lost somewhere in the shuffle. Am I fretting over nothing? Has anyone else who submitted an application recently had such a long delay (i.e. 3+ weeks) in getting their passport returned?

Just to clarify, when I say (above) that "it was received--I have the confirmation saved" I mean the An Post confirmation.

You will be fine, if you don't get your passport back in the next 2 or 3 weeks reach out to them.

I am in same situation as you. Applied end of October. I was able to call them last week Tuesday, the lady told me they were still processing applications received in September. I also wrote them an email prior to calling just in case I couldn’t get through, they replied on Thursday last week saying I will have my original passports back within next 3-4wks.

Same here guys, I have not yet received my passport back. Applied on 6th of November.
Please let me know if you receive yours. I have to travel in a month, not too sure if I will receive it in time!!!

Me as EU citizen got my passport back withing 24hours after sending the application. Not sure why they sometimes they need weeks to send passport back.

Same story, post delivery confirmation on 8th of November. No acknowledgment till this day. Some people get quick reply but at the same time are asked for additional paperwork, guess our documentation is fine that's why no quick response, at list I hope so

Hey Guys,
I called the office on Tuesday and asked them how long will it be. They said if I am going to travel they will return my passport and request it at a later date if they require it again and today I got my passport back.

Hey Kinginthenorth good on you for sorting your problem.Did you get an acknowledgment letter about receiving your documents and receipt for your payment or it was only passport.

In the same boat here, post delivery confirmation on 25th of September so it's more or less 10 weeks and still haven't received my passport back.
After writing twice an email to the citizenship info I got this reply :
I acknowledge receipt of your documents received in this office on 25/9/18.
Your passport will be returned to you in the coming weeks.

I'm still waiting on mine (though slightly less anxiously, knowing that lots of others are in the same situation).

Application and passports received on 28th September as per An Poste tracking. No further communication until I sent a few emails at the end of October. Passports returned at the start of November but there was no first or second stage letter nor was there a receipt for the bankers draft.

Original poster here again. Just to update everyone, I actually received my passport back in the mail today--along with the fee receipt, an application reference number, and a request for additional docs.

I am also waiting for my passport after submitting the form in mid-Oct, same as most ppl here...

Applied in 7th Nov after 4 weeks get passport and acknowledgement letter via Normal post.

Hey Guys,
Sorry for the delayed response.
No it was not accompanied by any letter with it. Just said that we are sending your passport back.
Having said that last week I got a letter saying my application is moved to next stage and the date on the application is the one when I called them and not the one on which I submitted.

I recently applied 31st Oct and Reg Post acknowledged it was received 1st Nov. Since then I have heard nothing nor have I had my passport returned. Obviously read through this thread and previous threads and some people had their passports return after a few days, other are still waiting 6 weeks plus. Anyone with previous experience; should I chase up?

Hey Lush,
I would suggest you to chase up and ask for your passport back, Same thing happened with me.
I dont think they look at the application unless you follow up for some reason!!

Chased via email on the 3rd, response to say that it was being processed and then passport received back on the 11th with letter saying that the application has now progressed to the next stage. I guess it is worth chasing up.
