Hi I already sent them email and they did not reply to me. Then went to TD and they replied wait, if you attended December ceremony your certificate will be issued soon. I don't know what they mean by "if"?
Its more than 3 weeks since then and i have no update? I think i am the only person left behind from that ceremony. I do not know what is the other option?

Hi, Write a letter to the citizenship office addressing it to ‘Team1 Naturalisation certificate’, Once they receive the letter, someone will come back to you on email to confirm if your certificate is issued already or not.

Hello,
Anyone that attended the February 26th ceremony in Dublin received his or her certificate, is almost a month :o ?
As it was a rather small ceremony (~1,200 attendees) so I would hope they start showing up within the next week or two. I recall the ceremony in October (which was about ~2,700 attendees) started showing up after about 4 - 5 weeks.

December was over 6,000 attendees and consisted of several ceremonies over two days, so I believe that is why it took several months for them to be issued.
Believe it or not, I was not getting any responses when I recently emailed citzenshipinfo@justice.ie as I had previously. I then added the address customersupport@citizenship.cloud.gov.ie to my next email and immediately received a response from Team 1.

That said, I previously received a response from that second 'cloud' email account when I emailed the first one, so it could have tied my recent email to and older ticket, but it's worth a try.

I received the same canned answer again today as I did two weeks ago. This just tells me they haven’t a clue when they will be issued, let alone posted.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been advised that certificates of naturalisation from the February ceremony will issue in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately it is not possible to give a more precise timeframe but be assured this work is being prioritised.

I guess that the office of the Minister of Justice will have to give the go-ahead before certificates are sent out as they bear the signature of the Minister.
I’ve noticed a time lag between printing and sending so I wonder if the Minister of Justice is directly responsible for some delay? This would explain why the Citizenship Helpdesk wouldn’t have a clue when they will be sent.

I have also seen about a two week lag between being issued and posted. However, the Minister has also publicly stated they are to be issued within six weeks from the date of the ceremony which is next Monday.

Am here to follow up any leads on this and if people started getting certificates yet. I did attend ceremony on 26-Feb and haven't heard anything. They didn't even give any proof that I attended :) no replies from citizenshipinfo@justice.ie except auto-emails suggesting they won't be replying for certificates for those who attended on 26-Feb.

<<<<Please be advised, if you were in attendance to the Ceremony on the 26th February, your certificate of Naturalization will issue to you in due course. >>>>

My IRP is expiring and I am aware that I don't need to renew and simply wait for certificate. However based on my IRP, my spouse had Stamp 1G and doing job which is also expiring on same day as mine. Now, I can wait for certificate but she would need 1G extend OR Stamp 4 (on my basis) to continue her job which can't be done until I get my certificate as per immigration officer. So kind of job loss situation in wait of this certificate. Does anyone know of advise in such circumstances ?

What is TD by the way and how do we contact them for getting replies regarding our certificates ?
Do they charge anything for this service ?

I contacted TD two weeks ago and last week got reply. The TD told me the email says if you attended the ceremony your certificate will be issued in due course. Also, if your IRP expires soon you dont need to renew it. My TD said if they dont send the certificate in two weeks contact us again. I am now waiting for another two weeks.

Hi All,

I’m just wandering if there’s still anyone awaiting cert from any of the Dec ceremony? Looks like I’m the only one without a cert at this stage.
Hi, Have you got your certificate by now ? I remember you were on the same ceremony as me 19th Dec 10.30 am ? I got mine around 10 days ago.
Hi, Still no luck, hence am very sure something is wrong somewhere, I have reached out to my TD some days ago, and on Wednesday he confirmed to have emailed the citizenship department, so I’m hoping they come back to my TD soonest. My IRP card expires in May, my employer is concerned, I also have a trip booked for June. I’m just left in limbo and extremely tired and exhausted! If anyone has further suggestions on how to get the citizenship department’s attention please share.

My need is only renewing wife's IRP not mine. Mine isn't applicable because legaly I am citizen now AND wife's renew isn't granted by immigration officer because mine is not renewed :) :( Frustrating limbo actually just waiting for certificate. Today, I got a temporary extention stamp for 4 months on passport so risk of losing job is mitigated thankfully. Waiting time for certificate still goes on anyway !!

Not a citizen unless you get that certificate in your hands, that's why you got a temp extension. But good that you got the extension.

Not exactly true.

Once you’ve attended the ceremony, signed the declaration and taken the oath you’re considered a citizen. You need have the certificate as proof of naturalisation, to obtain a passport, etc., but the department has decided to issue these afterwards.

If something happened where you needed to prove your citizenship, but haven’t yet received the certificate, the department of justice would still recognise you as one and they are the final authority. It’s just unfortunate they are taking several months to issue these certificates which is causing all of this additional confusion for everyone. The temp extension is so you have something in your possession to prove your status for employment, travel, etc. purposes while you wait.

I would liken it to losing your certificate, but you never decided to obtain a passport. You don’t lose your citizenship just because you don’t have it anymore and have to apply for a new one.

I’m not saying the immigration officer is wrong, I am saying you’re technically a citizen once you complete the aforementioned items. That said, since the department chooses not to provide any documentation that you attended the ceremony, you need to have something to provide immigration (in this case) until you have the certificate in hand.

This is unfortunately their current process and puts people in a technical grey area. However, it doesn’t negate the fact they’re a citizen that’s waiting on a single document to be issued to prove this, which was my entire point.

This is not true. You become a citizen once you attend the citizenship ceremony. However, with the issuance of the certificate, you are in a limbo, lacking the documentation to prove it at the moment. Nevertheless, if anything happens to you during this period, you will be treated as an Irish citizen legally.

Agree 100%. From the day ceremony is attended and you signed the document - you are Irish citizen on their record. Its the documentation which is taking time here and unfortunately not all offices, departments think and behave at same level hence to satisfy employers, immigration officer gave my wife a temporary extension to 1G so no fuss gets created for job loss. However he can't give her Stamp4 until he see physical certificate of mine which is understood.

Anyway, Today we completed 6 weeks from ceremony and based on what minister of Justice had announced - certificates should start being issued from this week. I heard this includes issuance, printing, signed by minister and then postage so expect 2-3 more weeks before majority of us start getting them in mailbox.

At the ceremony candidates will take an oath of fidelity to the nation, and thereby become Irish citizens. Your certificate of naturalisation will be issued by registered post in the weeks following the ceremony.
That's how it works for everything including driving licence. You passed today means you cannot drive it legally untill you get the license card.

That is the annoying part of this entire thing. According to the Minister For Justice, it's within six weeks and that is today.

"At present, certificates are posted to successful applicants after they attend a ceremony and perform their Oath of Allegiance. The majority of these certificates are issued to applicants within six weeks of the ceremony taking place."

renew your IRP, that's the only way
Not a citizen unless you get that certificate in your hands, that's why you got a temp extension. But good that you got the extension.
This is not true. You become a citizen once you attend the citizenship ceremony. However, with the issuance of the certificate, you are in a limbo, lacking the documentation to prove it at the moment. Nevertheless, if anything happens to you during this period, you will be treated as an Irish citizen legally.

Again, not true. With a DL at least you leave with something in hand (albeit temporary) that says you can legally drive the moment you pass.
