I received a letter last week from citizenship department to send 2018 P60, employments details summary for 2019 and asked me to complete the attached statutory declaration, and have it witnessed and return to the office within 28 days but there was nothing attached. I have emailed them last week to let them know but haven't got any reply yet. Shall I just send the P60 and employments details summary and write a letter to them to let them know I never received any declaration form?
At what stage of your application process are you? Are you just waiting for the Ceremony? Have you already paid the final 950 Euro fee?

I never received any second stage letter. Applied in April 2018. No request for €950 fee yet either just the letter last week.

So why are you posting in this thread called "Next ceremony"?

Could you please find a more appropriate thread or maybe create one if it doesn't exist already?

Sorry I didn't realise that. Thought it could be related to the next ceremony.

I have emailed INIS asking about the statutory declaration, so I got it as an answer.

“ Thank you for your email. Please note you do not require a declaration as
you already made it with your application.Continue to keep up dated with
events from our website. You will be hearing from our office in due course

Except that statutory declaration (Form 8 ) and affidavit of loyalty are two different things.

Update on website: https://www.irishimmigration.ie/applica ... -ceremony/

COVID-19 has unfortunately prevented the holding of our large scale citizenship ceremonies which is impacting the processing of applications. As a solution on an interim basis for applicants whose applications are approved, Minister McEntee was pleased to recently approve the priority drafting of a Statutory Instrument, whereby naturalisation certificates may issue on receipt of a statutory declaration. In this way, we hope to alleviate the delays currently impacting those seeking to start their new lives as Irish citizens.

Please continue to check our website for further announcements and updates here. It remains our intention that large scale ceremonies will recommence once circumstances allow.

HI , I Received the approval letter before 2nd Nov 2020 .
Did anyone know how to do with : drafting of a Statutory Instrument
how to do it ?
Citizenship will send the form of Drafting or
I do not know what to do ?

Thanks you .

A legal instrument needs to be drafted by legal experts, and will need to be debated and approved by the legislative bodies, so it may take some time. I'm just a bit disappointed that they abandoned the idea about the virtual ceremony.

My interpretation of their latest announcement (the one you quoted) is that they are working on creating a tool (a form, a declaration, who knows) which will be sent to everybody awaiting for the ceremony. This tool will replace the ceremony. Nobody knows for sure what will be. By what they have said so far, I m expecting it will be a form sent to your home address which you'll have to sign and return to them. I don't work with the Department and all this is an interpretation of the latest announcement from the Department of Justice.
We only need to wait and see what they come up with.
I really hope that they will act soon. I have paid the 950 Bank Draft in January 2020 and been waiting for a Ceremony since then.
Good luck to everybody.

The Minister for Justice made it clear yesterday: "It is intended that the regulations will be finalised early in 2021"

Yeah :( Early in 2021 can be in February or March. Most likely January and maybe February will be another L5 restrictions after Christmas travels.

Does anybody know whether applicants waiting for the affidavit / ceremony are allowed to travel outside of Ireland while waiting for the next steps?

Since you submit your IRP for the affidavit / ceremony and since there is not any multi-entry visa on the passport anymore; if you travel abroad, how do you get back to the country?

There have been many threads on this topic. You can either ask them to send your IRP card back, or apply for a re-entry visa.

Thanks for the answer - part that is confusing to me is whether applying for a re-entry visa is still a possibility after abolition of adult re-entry visa or not.

According to this site, it seems like it is only possible for stamp 6 holders. Only detailed explanation on how to apply can be found for stamp 6 here and even the form specifically mentions stamp 6 here

As I said, you can apply for a re-entry visa if you want. The Stamp 6 form can be used to apply for that.

However, the easier option would be to ask for your IRP card back.

There are many people on this forum who have used either option to travel abroad.

So last month my application was in advanced stage .. and today I got this reply ... :( :( :( :(

Thank you for your email. I am directed by the Minister for Justice and
Equality to refer to your correspondence received in this Office.

Your application for naturalisation is currently being processed with a
view to establishing whether you meet the statutory conditions for the
granting of naturalisation and will be submitted to the Minister for
decision when processing is complete.

The Division, like everyone in the State, has been impacted by the
restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 healthcare crisis. The restrictions
imposed have resulted in all Citizenship staff working remotely with
minimal access to the Office. Obviously these restrictions are outside of
the control of the division and have resulted in significant delays in
dealing with correspondence received in the Office and have had a negative
impact on processing times for all applications as the Division adjusts to
working in the current environment. The processing of the applications is
further impacted by the ability of Citizenship to contact other bodies,
many of whom will be negatively impacted by COVID-19.

I can confirm that the Division has engaged in concentrated effort to
process and complete all cases that remain outstanding for a considerable
period of time. Please be assured that we will revert immediately once a
decision has been reached on the application. Your patience in this matter
is appreciated.
