hello Vorona. when did you apply and when did you get the approval letter??
All what you say is understandable and correct.Vorona wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 4:34 pmThere are people out there who were approved in 2019 and have not been able to receive an invitation due to covid. Considering situation in the World this delays are understandable. Even if they started sending affidavits to approved applicant, it will be long before the backlog is cleared.
I think the best you could do is to wait. Sending repetitive emails will most likely result in generic responses, which will only keep you disappointed.
I understand your frustration. But we can't say that applications are delayed for no reason. Neither you nor anyone else really have any strong evidence of that. Citizenship is not a right or entitlement. It's a privilege that is not be taken for granted simply because you are qualified to apply for it. Even before the COVID it was mentioned in the letters that there will always be cases which will take longer to process.
Maximus - I couldn't agree more with you! Theses delays were present pre-covid for example applicants still waiting from 2018 so using covid as an excuse is simply not acceptable. I mean how can applicants who applied in 2020 already have an approval?. its difficult to understand their logic and how they process applications because its obvious from the timeline thread that their not processed in chronological order.maximus_ wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 5:06 pmAll what you say is understandable and correct.Vorona wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 4:34 pmThere are people out there who were approved in 2019 and have not been able to receive an invitation due to covid. However the delay in system is present pre-covid times and the lack of genuine effort from the department to resolve this issue is concerning - the Virtual ceremony was a big gimmick in 2020.
Paddy, majority of applications processed within a year. It's just so happened that your particular application is taking very long to complete. Try to request your data under the freedom of information regulation. It's free of charge. They will give you a copy of your application and additional files which have been created by the Department so you could at least have a look if you see anything that can potentially explain this delay.Paddy1996 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 8:19 pmWell of course I am complaining couse they Says people will decision in 6-12 months not 6 years to 12 years so you can’t live with the visa the way you can live as a citizenship so you have not the same rights so think about it why we should not be complaining about it you probably must be the one that can live only with visa but we most of us can’t live with the visa the whole life
The majority of the cases are not processed within an year as it has been explained here: https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/qu ... %5D=delaysVorona wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 12:06 amPaddy, majority of applications processed within a year. Even if this goes for longer, you can still apply for permanent residence in Ireland after 8 years if I'm correct so you could stay here indefinitely.
You're not considering the delays caused by High Court decision last year and COVID-19 this year and how severely the process was affected. I consider myself a majority and the application was completed within 12 months indicated by the Department. I am sure I'm not the only one who was approved from 2020. If my application was delayed for 2 years or more I certainly wouldn't be very happy about it. But it wouldn't make my life unbearable either. I would still have my family, my house, my job, and do the things I love to do. If you believe that your application was unfairly delayed, you still have an option of challenging this delay. Is it worth time, hassle, and very high costs without any guarantee that you will win the case? Not for me. I have better ways of spending thousands of euros. Best of luck to you.
Why do you get worked up when other people express their frustration over their own applications ? A bit odd isn't it for someone with rare luxuries like "a family a job and a house" to get worked up on an immigration forum where majority of people will post because their applications didn't get processed the way they expected. "survivorship bias" it is called. Survivors here on this forum will most likely have something they aren't happy about.Vorona wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 4:58 pm

Out of curiosity do you turn up to random funerals too and tell the weeping widow that there is no point in crying, death is just a part of life and before you know it it will be her ? we just don't do that do we ?
Absolutely spot on. Couldn't agree more.longbeach wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 12:09 amWhy do you get worked up when other people express their frustration over their own applications ?
