I'm anxiously waiting for my invitation. I got the letter with the proposal to grant on Jan 8, sent the payment the following day and it was received by them on Jan 10th. Since then I've been checking the post everyday. You guys approved since November damn! I hope I don't have to wait months after getting so far

I am on same boat. Don't worry now. Will get some letter by mid February.

Is there anybody received the invitation. I have already got my approval 19/11 but they didn't invite me last December. It was fully booked. Is there anybody here in the same boat.

It's really hard to know how many were approved and paid the €950 before November and didn't get a place in December's ceremony. Makes it really hard to guess if those of us who got a letter in January have any hope of March's ceremony or not. There's such a massive back log. And zero transparency as to where they are in clearing it up.
I wish they would post all the ceremony dates planned as it would help facilitate travel etc knowing not to be away those particular dates just in case.

Of course I may be wrong BUT I don't believe the backlog is massive to the point of people who got their approval early January not being invited, since there's 2 days scheduled for ceremonies.

I hope you are right. At one point when everything was suspended the media were saying around 20000 people in the back log to get processed. At 2000 a ceremony that's going to take a while to queue. However it was unclear if that counted those that had only just submitted their applications or just the ones in the middle/final stages.

Yes, I understand where you're coming from - the thing is the media usually exaggerate on those numbers, I believe 20000 people back log to get processed, they probably mean 20000 applications to be processed, pending decisions, etc.

Do you think they've approved 20000 people in less then 4 months from the 17th of July until the 14th of November?

Yeah and I'd hope they wouldn't be approving more and more people if they already had such a huge backlog. (Me hoping obviously you never know haha)
Let's see
If I get anything I'll update here

Hey Lifeisgood2020, u not alone, there is a bunch of people in the same situation (judging by timeline threads), and I'm one of them. I even got an approval letter on the same day as u.

I rang the same number you rang , but just kept ringing until they answered, tbh i was lucky today to go through, sometimes i will be calling for the whole 2 hours and no one answering, but at least now we know that the invitations will be issued in 2 weeks time

Hi Guys,

I applied for my citizenship in April of 2018 and till this day I haven’t heard a thing. Just responses from different teams and no approval. The waiting is tough. I’m guessing l won’t be approved in time for this ceremony coming in March 😔

Hi Everybody ,

Need Urgent advise please,
Applied in Mid 2017
Got letter to submit
€950
GNIB Card

My GNIB expires on 16 Feb?
The earliest ceremony would be in March!

What should I do? should I send the card as per the letter and they will give me any letter of acknowledgement or what? Do I have to apply for renewal before sending the GNIB card, it would be 2,weeks before it expires which would be early Feb and by that time the 10 days mentioned in the letter will be over?

Any suggestion or previous experience please!

Thanks

Hi Kamione ,show your approval letter to immigration officer.he/she will give a 3 month extended stamp on your passport for free but will not apply for new GNIB card . Send the photocopy of passport page with new stamp along with your current GNIB card .PLS.also write a cover letter . This would be enough . I did same . Best of luck.
