My application date was : 13 th March
Second Letter : 22nd Aug.

But my GNIB is expiring on 18th and Still I haven't got the appointment. I am still trying to find one.

Hey Coder - I am also from Pakistan and now waiting for almost 2 years. Should I hire an Immigration Solicitor and ask them to write letters etc or what? As now the elections will be coming so maybe TD won't do anything? Can you please guide me on what should I do as per your experience?

Many Thanks,
Mansoor

Hello Mansoor,
Hiring a solicitor does not really help until application should cross at least 3 year since its lodged because when I asked my solicitor to bring my case into the court he recommend me judge would not consider this because it should go over 3 year of time period so you would be wasting money on different solicitors for this case. I would recommend that after the election please contact to your local TD and let him/her to ask the status of the application.
Thank you,
C

Once someone wait from 2 year plus time they can bring judicial review.
Personally know a person who won 18 month citizenship delay judicial review.

Hello Everyone,

I never got a Second stage letter but today I got a letter to pay 950 to be considered for Ceremony,
I applied in April 2019 and have received only an application ref number so far.

My husband applied on the same day and he got only his passport so far and a application reference number

I am very happy to get a letter to pay the money but just curious. Does it happen like this ? Can we get invite to ceremony without getting any other correspondence from them?

Thanks

I also applied April 2019, never got a ref number, just a receipt, then last week got the letter asking for the fee. Doesn't seem to be a set process for what letters go out.

Hi guys,

I just got a letter asking me for the 950 euro fee and passport photos. I know that there are two ceremonies scheduled in March, but wondering if someone knows when will be the next one?

I already booked a holiday in April for 3 weeks and I'm afraid not to miss an invitation while I'm abroad.

Thank you, but I know about the March ceremonies, as I said.
In case I miss them, I would like to know when are likely to be the next ones (because I have a planned holiday).

There is no details about next dates of the ceremonies. My guess - we will know the date after new goverment comes to the power after election. I think Minister is making that decision.

Do you guys think there will be more approvals coming for the March ceremony?

I see from posts here that they seem to have sent 4 batches of approvals on 7, 14, 21 and 24 January so, with the elections looming, I am not sure if there will be another round of approvals.

We are waiting approximately 2 years now and still didn't get anything. What do you guys think?

Based on around 20K people in the queue for naturalization according to Minister in October, one would expect more ceremonies held. Now it looks like it will be only 3 ceremonies this year. :(

Based on the stats that the minister gave on 10 October 2019, there were 19,172 applications pending:
https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/qu ... 10-10/141/

They gave citizenship to 2,000 people in December and assuming they give it to 6,000 more people in the 2 ceremonies in March (even that number is a stretch). That still leaves a backlog of around 11,000 applications which is not even counting the ones that would have been received between October and now.

Does anyone know what NI residents send along with photos and payment instead of GNIB Card?
Thanks

I got my letter about a week ago and even though it said "please send the fee within 10 days of this letter" the letter wasn't actually dated.
