Hi All,
I have an Irish long term visa and will be flying to Ireland in December for employment. In my home country, surnames are optional and my details on my local passport are as follows:
First name: ABC
Surname: --
Father name: XYZ
When applying for Irish visa, clear guidance was given on Irish department of justice website to place a dash in case you have no surname, I followed this guidance and got my visa. My name on visa is "- , ABC" (i.e. surname, first name).
Recently I went to create a MyGovID, but it is not accepting a dash as username. So now my main query is, when applying for IRP, PPS and all other official Irish tasks, I understand that surname is a mandatory requirement. So what should I write on the relevant IRP, PPS forms,
1. Should I write my father name as surname on IRP application, PPS application and other forms as my father name can be verified from my passport (but is not written on Irish visa)?
2. Or should I just write my first name as both first name and last name?
Thanks you for your time and attention.
