Opening a business in Ireland, want residency as well.

Post by kenaness » Sat Aug 15, 2015 7:57 am

Hi guys,

I am planning on opening an online business and incorporating in Ireland due to its good environment of doing business.

I am from the UK but my wife is non-eu and have been married 7 years.

Initially the business will be employing me and her but will hopefully expand to about 10+ employees within a year.

My question is:

1) How long until she can get the stamp4 eufam/permanent residency card??

2) Can we get the stamp4 from UAE (where we are now) or should we just visit Ireland then apply?

3) Do they stamp her passport every time she comes in and out while being a permanent resident?

Thanks.

The procedure is
1. Visa for the family member of a EU Citizen to enter Ireland.
2. Applying via EU1 application for a 4EUFAM card
3. getting a temp stamp till the decision
4. getting a 4EUFAM card after 5 to 6 month

In your case you can choose as basis for the EU1 application self-employed or self-sufficient with enough financial resources and health insurance.

Thanks for the reply.

Follow-up questions:

1) How long till she gets the temp stamp?

2) Can we travel outside ireland with temp stamp (job would require travel to UK and maybe Germany)

3) Do they stamp her passport every time she comes in and out while being a permanent resident?

1. 4 to 6 weeks after sending the application to INIS both passports and a letter with the invitation to collect the temp stamp at the next GNIB office get send back.

2. Travelling alone is a problem. The 4EUFAM card give only visa exemption rights in the EU if the eu citizen accompany or is waiting in the destination country. The temp stamp give no rights outside of Ireland.

3. Passport stamping is not allowed if a 4EUFAM card is presented but not every border officer know this.
