Cant really do anything other than just keep on bothering each department to get things done. N if they cancel again only option is to apply again until either they take back our naturalisation cert or issue our passport.

Anyway the thing is they will eventually issue the passport but it might take few months or years or maibe decades.

Hi,

I see quite few people from Pakistan are waiting for this verification. Its been more than six months and you are getting no where. One of you need to take a step further.
Department of foreign affairs do send verification requests to Irish consulate in Karachi and than they would get information from their local sources.
People who are willing to spend money, hire a solicitor and send them a notice of 14 days demanding answer or they will end up in court where they would have to answer everything.
Or
Send a Freedom of Information request under Freedom of information act 2014 asking for a copy of the information they hold on your file. When you will receive your file you would find out what is actually going on or if they don’t want to give you information someone will contact you and will tell you they will help you sort out the matter for you outside the foi process.
This is all from personal experience. I have dealt with department of Foreign affairs in the past.

Wish you all very best. Hopefully all of you would receive your passport soon.

I totally agree with above sometimes u need to push them hard but i dont think hiring a solicitor by one person will resolve the issue for rest. If I will push them through a solicitor they will only get my file sorted and leave rest again in limbo plus they have a big excuse of covid these days but yeah I agree a lot of irish people have even told me to either go public or hire a solicitor as public departments here wont work without a push.

Is there any Form for FOI application particularly for Passport Office or we need to write an application on plain paper and should be in application apart from the our own details and application numbers etc.? should we need to give reference of any act or not?

You can email the freedom of information section.
Make sure on the top of the email you mentioned that you are requesting information under the freedom of information act 2014.
Write all your details regarding your case also write what is going on.
Someone will get back to you and they will try to sort it out for you.
Hopefully will work out for you.

Hi, i posted back in September that i got my passport even they sent me an email about cancelation of application. A guy working in our local union council told my father that they got enquiry from consulate or foreign affairs for my birth verification. It could be foreign affairs office in Pakistan.

I just looked on the website it states,

Submit the request in writing or by email. Be clear enough so that we understand what records are being requested. In cases where we cannot understand what records are being requested, we will help you to identify the records you want.
State in your letter/email that the request is being made under the Freedom of Information Act 2014.

Anybody has received any feed back from the passport office about the verification of birth certificate. I received phone call from them before lockdown that they have got my verification from Pakistan and they are going to process my application but still I don’t know when I will get my pass because they again went in pause due to lockdown. I don’t know whether they will process pending applications during lockdown or not, have anyone any clue?

No update and no hope at least before 5th March, if the government decide to lower down the lock down level 5 status after 5th March then i may be able to get my pass.

So don’t think so passport office will resume operation for another 6 weeks. Think our applications will get cancelled automatically at this stage if they are pending for 6 months. So frustrating. So many other departments are working in limited capacity but passport office are completely shut down to routine applications.

My application will expired after six months automatically 2nd time @ the end of April, if they fail to process my application and it will be waste of time & money exercise for nothing?

Bro I think new Naturalised citizen's passports were delayed as they were not accepting any new applications except for emergency reason.

There is no such thing attestation from Pakistan,as it is not mentioned in the pre- requisites.

I suggest pull out your application and resubmit after 4 weeks once their backlog is cleared, will make things a lill easier

Regards

It is true and no difference whether it is attested by Pakistani foreign office or Pakistani Embassy in Dublin. They physically check birth register with union council by a person appointed by Honorary Council, Karachi. And due to pandemic last year they took a year in some cases. In normal circumstances they can verify within 6 months.
