Query on insurance provider for CSEP

Post by wackyharam » Thu Feb 01, 2024 4:42 pm

Hope you are well.

I am currently on stamp 1G (changed from Stamp 2 to stamp 1G) and I wish to apply for a critical skills permit. I have already obtained stamp 1G insurance from Arachas/Chubb (https://www.studyandprotect.com/) for stamp 1G and I have about 8 months left on that insurance.

Can you please confirm if I need to obtain health insurance again from Laya/VHI/etc, for the purpose of my CSEP application?

Note: My company does not offer health insurance as part of remuneration.

My company is not paying for any of this and hence CSEP is a huge cost to me already.

What kind of insurance you have?

This is aimed at students - my insurance details booklet from Chubb is mentioning the fact that this is aimed at international students all over the place. So IMO it's not the case of "getting insurance from proper provider" but "get appropriate insurance".

Well,

this is what the header of my insurance copy says:

Statement of fact/confirmation of cover/policy summary
Superior MediCover Graduate Travel/Personal Medical Expenses Insurance
For students from Non-EEA countries on a 1G Visa
==============================

Now my confusion is this:

CSEP Application checklist does not specify anything about health insurance copy to be provided to them.

the only mention of health insurance is when it is included in my remuneration, which is not the case. so will they reject my application if I am registered with Chubb and if I dont receive health insurnace?
