Whatever you send them has to have your parents name and date of birth. If it doesn't then I advise you to send back the affidavit form as well. DoJ sent that back to me with my certificate of naturalisation.

I haven't received my cert yet. :( This is week 5 for me, so I think it should be arriving any day this week.

I don't know how long it takes to naturalise a minor. But apparently they're much quicker than adult naturalisations as minors don't get checks such as Social Welfare or Garda background checks.

Hi tuner,
Can i ask you mate, your daughter(16), you mentioned that it took 3 months to get her naturalisation sorted out. does that mean if you are a naturalised parents... the kids naturalisation process is more faster is it?
last thing... was she born in ireland ? as i m trying to figure out if both parents are naturalised and your kid will be born outside Ireland.. what will be the case then.. will the kid get naturalisation automatically or thru this application which you did for your daughter .. thanks
Cheers

No, born in Russia.
Yes, much quicker, 3 months.
Application form for a minor on the main web site.

But not sure if a minor needs few years (3?) living in Ireland before she can apply (actually parents apply). Read same website.
When I got citiz-ship my daughter had been living 7 years in Irl and I had been living 8.5 y in Irl.

End of week 6

Post by LuasPassenger » Fri Oct 23, 2009 3:41 pm

So today is the end of my week 6 since I took my Oath and sent all the docs and payment to INIS and I still haven't received my cert. :(

Has anybody who took the oath and sent docs in the last 6 weeks received their cert?

Theres something wrong here. Check youre registered post details to make sure that they have recieved youre documents and payments. If they have recieved it write them a letter stating what day and who recieved it, and when exactly they are sending youre cert.
I did my oath beginning of September and already have my passport.

Thanks for the input jhbmike! They received my payment and documents. I have the registered post details and it was delivered. Also, they sent me a letter shortly after that confirming they received "my letter along with other documents". I won't be able to ring next week, so I guess I'll send them a letter. Thanks again!

I'm still waiting for mine as well. I took the oath on the 9th September and posted everything out by registered letter the following day. INIS received my documents on the 11th and then sent me out a confirmation of receipt of my letter and documents enclosed therein a few days later.

All told, I've been waiting the bones of 6 weeks, and am now entering the seventh week. Maybe next week I'll get lucky. :/

Looks like there is a complete halt in INIS at the moment. Nothing seems to be moving on the approval end either

Took the Oath Of Fidelity on 11/09/2009, and posted the same day by registered post.
Got a letter confirming receipt on my documents. In fact i had even sent them my oiginal passport, called them and they posted it back.
But still no sign on the certificate.
The stuggle continues

Got mine, too. Exactly 7 weeks from the day that I posted everything out to INIS.
