Irish citizen with Russian Spouse - some advice please :)

Hi there.

I am an Irish citizen and recently got married to my Russian fiance. She is currently applying for her new Russian passport (with her new name) and will be moving to Ireland when all the paperwork is sorted. I am in full-time employment. I have two questions that I'd really appreciate some help on.

Firstly, what would be the ideal way to apply for residency in Ireland?

And secondly, we plan to have a belated honeymoon in Rome in around July. I have been reading conflicting information on whether she will need to apply for a Shengen Visa or not.
