irish naturalisaition for non eu

Post by bpsai09 » Sat Aug 21, 2010 12:54 pm

Hi,
I recently applied irish naturalisation, but they have sent the documents to amend few details on it. That because i have printed the names of dad, mom & my wife (first name + surname format). The supporting documents which i have submitted from india has got the names in , starting with initials (initial of surname + first name format). They asked me to submit sworn in affidavit or letter from concern autority of that country.

I am unsure what is sworn in affidavit means & where to get it done.

Any kind advice is most appreciated.

Thanks

An affidavit is a written declaration which is accompanied by an oath or affirmation indicating that the contents of the affidavit are true.

Any solicitor could help you out with that.

Hi bpsai09, how long did you receive the response after you submitted the naturalisation application? I just submitted mine last week, I think I have same issue as well.

thanks!

Thanks bpsai09. It's been almost 2 weeks, I haven't received any response. Have you solved your name issue yet?

If there is any discrepancy in any of the documents a notarized copy be submitted as far as i am aware. Basically its a same proforma but in English (if your documents aren't in english in the first place) but if they are, then a photocpy with corrections on them duly signed by an Oath commissioner or Notary public should suffice. Oath commissioners are solicitors here in Ireland I dont know who they are elsewhere.

Just want to update that I received the letter to confirm my application with a reference number, it also indicates the processing time is 26 months and currently they are processing applications from the last quarter of 2008, surprisingly, did not ask me to submit more supporting documents, maybe it is not required at this stage.
