Irish spouse and on Stamp 4 - Schengen visa benefits?

Post by Lost991697 » Mon Jul 29, 2024 12:32 pm

Hi all,

My spouse is Irish and I'm on a Stamp 4 visa at the moment(based on residence/previously being on a Critical Skills permit - not because of marriage).

I was wondering if there are any benefits with regards to applying for Schengen visas due to being married to an Irish national? I'm trying to get appointments to get a Schengen visa for mid-September, but actually managing to get an appointment is a painful process. Could I contact the embassy(or embassies) directly?

Thanks!

Hi,

Since your spouse is an EU citizen, you can apply for EU family member visa. It's a facilited visa with less requirement.

*******You are only eligible for this kind of visa if your Irish spouse is travelling with you or you will meet her on arrival.******

*Marriage certificate
*Color copy of you and your spouse's passport/passport card ( front and back page)
*Flight itinerary

If you want direct appointments from embassy try
Portugal
Belgium
France
Slovakia
Czech Republic
