Is my salary enough for Skilled Worker visa update under SOC 3533 (Accounting Technician)?

Post by vanhung89vt » Mon Jul 07, 2025 12:20 pm

Hello everyone,

I currently hold a Skilled Worker visa with my first Certificate of Sponsorship issued in November 2023 for a Sales position. I work for the same employer and now plan to update my visa to switch my job to Accounting Technician (SOC 3533).

I work 35 hours per week, and my employer is offering me a salary of £33,600 per year.

Based on my research and the official GOV.UK guidance (https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/ ... april-2024), I understand that for SOC 3533, the lower going rate is £36,000/year (for a 37.5-hour week). Since I work fewer hours, I pro-rated the salary as:

£36,000 × (35 / 37.5) = £33,600/year

I would like to confirm if this salary meets the requirements to update my Skilled Worker visa under the transitional rules (first CoS before April 4, 2024), or if I need a higher salary. I will submit before 22 Jul 2025

Any advice or clarification would be really appreciated!

Thank you!
