Is there a fee for Permanent Residence for wife of UK National ?

Post by Corkyboy » Thu Feb 13, 2025 1:39 pm

Hello,

Sorry to bother people.

We just got a letter approving my wife's application for Permanent Residence.

She was previously given a temp IRP card with Stamp 4 on it.

So filled in the online form with "Stamp 4" and selected "Received Letter of approval" underneath.

As a wife of UK National, is a fee required.

Just not sure we have selected the right category.

Thanks in advance

Thanks to Brexit :) Yes since the UK is no longer part of the EU, the 300 euro fee applies.

Oh by the way I saw you are a withdrawal agreement beneficiary. They used to have a specific renewal stamp type for that in the renewal portal but it seems that is no longer there. I’m not sure if that means any renewals of such stamps will no longer be free.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, last time we applied for her for the temp IRP Card, I wasn't sure what to select, and in the end I selected EUFam, as that is what is on her very first IRP card.
We got our cards updated to Withrawal Agreement cards around Brexit time.

With the EUFam imputs her application was approved, so just changed it to that on inisonline.

Hopefully that's OK?

Obviously she doesn't mind paying a fee, but just want to select the right one.

Yeah the worst scenario is they reject that application and demand the 300 euro and you simply need to create a new application. Do keep us posted on whether that application worked in the end please.
