Job Creation Calculation when paying fixed monthly salary

Post by snt » Tue Jul 16, 2019 10:25 pm

Hi, I pay my employees a fixed amount on a monthly basis. My extension is due by mid July 2020 and would like to calculate if the wages are inline with HO guidelines of 30 hrs/week & 130 hrs/month OR whether I need a revision.

How does the calculation work in case the employees are being paid a fixed amount monthly?

Thanks in Advance.

You specify the hourly rate. Monthly salary/hourly rate = hours

so if I pay someone £1,200 monthly, I have choice either to show number of hours as (roughly 140) if I show hourly rate as £8.50 per hour OR I can show the number of hours as (roughly 145) if I show hourly rate as £8.25?

Correct. As long as the hourly rate is above National minimum.

You may want to check against employment contracts and not contradict anything there but otherwise, up to you.
