Post by ashugarg » Sun Aug 26, 2007 2:29 pm

Hi

I am flying to UK next month for a stay of 6 months.
My wife who has 2-3 yrs of exp in Java/J2EE shall be coming on dependent visa.
Kindly let me know what are her chances of getting a job in UK and what all formalities shall be required.

Thanks

Ashu

Chances are very good. J2EE/ Java etc skills are very much in demand. Don't worry and she will get job very soon :)

I don't want to disappoint anybody, but if the OP has got a visa only for 6 months then the OP's wife may have difficulty in finding a permanent job.

But she may be lucky in landin a contractors role

That's true. If your Visa is valid for 6 months only, then it is unlikely that your wife will get any job. Pls let us know if your visa itself is valid for 6 months or your intial plan is to stay in the UK for 6 months.

I hope you have HSMP and not 6 months visit visa

Cheers,

Akash...

What is your nationality? And you wife's? What sort of visa are you coming here on?
I am not, and cannot, offer legal advice to particular people. I can only discuss general areas of immigration law.

People should always consider obtaining professional advice about their own particular circumstances.

It does, but people can have Indian-sounding names and be from all over the place, it wouldn't be right to make assumptions.

my name suggests I come from Wales, but I was born and brought up in London (-:

Indian name + 6 months permit (onsite to implement a project) = 99.9% definitely from India.
