Jobseeker Status - no bank statements needed?

Post by Danlieb » Sun Jul 26, 2015 7:05 am

Hi there,

If you have indicated that you as an EEA national were a jobseeker (and hence qualified person) for a period of time, do you need to provide details about your finances for that period of time?

And does it necessarily mean that you must have been registered at a Jobcentre Plus if your status is "jobseeker"? Would sending out emails with prospective CVs to companies be sufficient?

Your input is much appreciated.

Jobseekers do not need to prove funds. However, you may need to submit bank statements to prove your presence in the UK (if you do not have other docs to prove it).

Being registered with a job centre is just one way of proving you were a jobseeker. You can also use application/rejection and invitation to interview letters to show that you were actively seeking work.
All information given is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Thanks Lilylalilu,

Just out of curiosity, how would the numbers of prospective emails and job applications below stack up? Are they a bit too sparse for months B-E?

Month A : 18 prospective emails
Month B : 1 job application + Part-time job
Month C : 2 prospective emails + 1 job application + Part-time job
Month D : 2 prospective emails + invitation to interview + Part-time job
Month E : 3 prospective emails + 1 job application + Part-time job

Take note, from Month B onwards, my EEA partner was working part-time but only getting on average £250 a month. My partner was basically dependant on me, but didn't have CSI to show self-sufficiency. As my partner is a school teacher, there were only so many job openings for that particular subject at that particular time. Would the Home Office take this into consideration or do they expect a jobseeker to apply for simply any kind of opening?

Do you think it would be good to actually submit the job application pack itself in addition to the email it was attached to? Also would it bode well to send my EEA partner's CV + qualifications (degree scroll or maybe transcripts)?
