joint application query (section 3)

Post by r6njit » Sat Jan 16, 2010 8:37 pm

Section 3 (Good Character Requirement) requires the occupation and employment details.

we plan to apply jointly with me as the main applicant (if there is such a thing). my wife has worked previously in the uk but has chosen to look after our child for the past 5 odd years. whilst we have put in her NI number, should we be leaving this section blank?

i'm especially confused because the only thing guide says for non-employees is: "If you do not pay income tax through PAYE you must demonstrate that you have discharged your obligations towards the H.M. Revenue & Customs, by attaching a Self Assessment Statement of Account" - and this I believe is only for self employed.

what about housewife?

also, our son is a registered british citizen - would it help out application to put this information on page 14 (Further information not covered in other section)?

there is no joint application for naturalisation. it is one form per applicant. your wife could write 'housewife or unemployed'

i dont think your child being registered as british will affect the application in any way
