Just a bit confused

Post by corasson » Tue Nov 24, 2015 9:38 am

Good morning everyone

Please i have 2 questions
First what is the status of a child being born from parents with leave to remain? Will the baby will have to apply for leave to remain as a dependant and get same lenght of leave as parents?

Secondly will the child qualified for indefinite leave when the parent qualify or will the child will be able to be registered as a British citizen after both parent have their indefinite leave to remain?

Thank you so much

If child was born in the UK and not travelling, then child will be entitled to register as a British citizen directly after a parent is granted ILR.

Else, if you are asking about your overseas-born daughter, then please continue in previous topic.

Hi Vinny

Thanks for your quick reply. It's just that when i asked a question there i have no answers. Anyway, i wasn't asking about my daughter who is still abroad but for a child born here.
Also I'm planning to move with my bf in early January but here is the thing i got recourse to public (although on limited leave to remain) therefore i am getting child tax , working tax credits income support . As soon as my bf move in with me i have to notify the tax people for change of circumstances, i told my bf about it but he is now refusing to move in with me , he is saying that will affect his future renewal.

Also my daughter appeal is still ongoing i am just in the process of getting all the evidences together and still haven't decided to use a lawyer or not. Does the fact me getting benefits will affect the judge decision at the appeal?

Thank you
