Keeping HSMP in the loop!

Post by kokakola » Fri Sep 24, 2004 6:27 am

Hiya

I need some opinions on this one!

In December 2003 I applied and received my HSMP. Lived in the UK for 6 months following that - and am currently pursuing an MBA degree in the US. I will be returning to the UK upon graduation and would like to apply for HSMP at that time again (given that my current HSMP expires Dec 04 and I will be unable to renew it).

Do you guys think I should notify HSMP that I won't be applying for renewal - and then attach the letter with my future application in 2006? Or do they not really care?

This, of course, rests on the assumption that HSMP still exists in 2006. On another nore, has anyone heard anything of the UK government's plans to introduce the MBA HSMP-type scheme?

Kind regards

1. No need to take any action on the renewal so make a fresh application when you are ready. You will need to meet the requirements of the scheme as they will be in operation then - the HSMP scheme is now a permanent immigration category and is a cornerstone of the current administration's 'managed' migration policy..its not going anywhere 8).

2. An update on the MBA scheme is yet to come out - I anticipate a news release on or around the pre budget in November 2004.
