KOLL ILR to British Citizenship

Post by Sley2001 » Tue Nov 19, 2024 9:40 am

Hello,

Last year, my mother was granted ILR on the basis of 10 years long residency and a KOLL waiver form was used.

She is not eligible to apply for a UK citizenship because it has been 1 year since her ILR was granted.

Will she be required to submit a new KOLL waiver form or will the previous document still apply?

The previous document was completed in July of 2023 and it states that is it very unlikely that her medical condition will improve within the next 2 years.

Many thanks in advance.

If your mother has been on ILR for 12 months she IS eligible for naturalisation subject to meeting requirements.
AN Guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... n-guidance

How old is your mother?
If 65 or older she doesn’t need tests for naturalisation.

If not she needs to submit an exemption form.
