late WRS - permanent residence/ nauralisation

Post by gorza » Mon Jan 05, 2015 10:54 pm

HI there,

I'm hoping someone can advise on the issue of late WRS registration when applying for PR/ naturalisation.

I arrived to the UK in 2006 and worked part time in a pub. first time I registered for WRS was in 2008 and I've worked for the same employer for over 4 years, during which the registration stopped being compulsory. After leaving this employer I have worked most of the time with around 3 weeks looking for work.

will there be any complications due to my late WRS registration? when Is the 5 year period counted from - date of the arrival/ or working backwards from today's date?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

BR

Your lawful employment would have started from the date when your WRS was issued. Your qualifying 5-year period may start from then.

Thank you for your reply. Should I enclose my proof of employment prior to WRS with the application? Will there be any consequences of not having the registration?

There's no need as it won't be counted towards the qualifying period.
