lawyer fees

Post by hmm » Mon Jun 07, 2010 1:10 am

Just being curious..... what's everyones paying...
How much the lawyer/barrister charge to represent some one at the Tribunal ? refusal of settlment visa.

Our solicitor charged us £300 to lodge the appeal. We've been told it'd be between £1500 and £2000 (depends on who is coming I guess) for the appeal hearing.

Sounds reasonable?
Is that it or might be more charges after the hearing?

I have an immigration advisor and pay £400 to log the appeal, £400 to prepare for court and £500 to represent at court.
I have no idea if im paying the norm or not, i feel comfortable with the advisor i have shes always at the end of the phone and emails back within minutes which is just what i need at this stressful time, theres no waiting around, wondering what the hell is going on.
she's also honest about the whole process, i always feel very informed on the points we are going to have a difficult time with etc.
