Leave after ILR

Post by muzammil1124 » Wed Nov 27, 2013 12:54 pm

Hi All

I was told that after getting the ILR, I need to visit UK at least once every 2 years to keep it valid.

I have received my ILR and would like to know if I can visit India for employment and visit UK after say 1 year. Will my ILR remain valid?

Please let me know.

Many thanks
Muzammil Ahmed

Thanks Manci, as always you are great.

So for how long can I remain outside UK without having to fill up these returning resident forms. Thanks again

Why not wait a year and get UK citizenship?

I agree, but basically I want to keep my Indian citizenship. Was wondering if the "once in a 2 year rule still exist"

Thanks

They normally expect returning residents to enter within two years for the purpose of settlement and not merely visiting.
