Letter confirming contract work: urgent status?

Post by zeke » Tue Nov 02, 2004 5:23 pm

Greetings!

My recruitment agency says that I can be "a contract to " the agency and that I would perform locum work.

Question: Would a letter confirming the above suffice for placing my application on urgent processing status? Or must the letter show an employment relationship?

Quite frankly, I am confused abou the similarities and differences between "employee" and "contract" status. See my 02 November 2004 post in the UK Employment and jobs forum for more detail.

Any thoughts?

i dont think so. unless the "agency" us directly offering you a job in their company. the one thing here is that, if thet start allowing people to use letters from agencies then that will just be the end of the "urgent" queue.

reason i dont think it is possible is mainly because the agencies are not permitted to apply for permits, unless if they are employing the person directly as part of their staff, and not in the case where they are offering a personnel service.
