letter from bank in support of tier-1 entrepreneur

Hi - is a letter from bank where funds are held mandatory in order to achieve the points. Natwest in UK is reluctant to issue any specific letters and maximum I can achieve seems to be they willing to confirm the balance and how long have I been a customer. Does anyone envisage any problems with this or has experience with Natwest and what is the best way to go about it?
