Life in UK Test Confusion !!!

Hello friends,
I am applying for my ILR in Nov-11 on basis of HSMP (JR). My Question is Do I and my wife has to pass Life in UK for ILR application ?

Can I take LIU Exam after ILR approval to obtain Naturalisation ?

Pls advise as I am confuse..
