Living with Parents

I am British and my husband and I were living in Iran until we returned to the UK in Feb 2009. My husband is in the UK on a two year spouse visa. We are currently staying with my parents. It is most likely that we will continue to to live with them for the next few years. Am I right and correct in thinking that there are no problems for ILR applications, as long as I provide a letter from my parents stating this and that I supply a certified copy of their house deeds and a few household bills. Of course I must still obtain the 6 documents, but the only letters that will be in joint names are bank statements, savings statements and a working tax credit letter. The rest will be in individual names for example letters from the DVLA, HMRC etc. Do you think that this will be ok? Also as I will be supplying joint bank statements as proof of income, will they also accept a few joint bank statements thoughout the 2 years as proof of cohabition?

Sorry one last thing. Will living with my parents affect an application for British citizenship in the future?

No problem with continuing to live with family, or the fact that not all of your documents are in joint names. Submit 12 instead of the 6 if they're all in single names. You need to cover 3 different categories.
Your husband has passed the Life in the UK (KOL) test?
Living with parents also has no adverse affect on BC application later on.

They don't ask for marriage certificate for ILR. They do return original documents but I would take copies of everything you send them...it's easier to check that you've had everything back then.
Has your husband registered with the doctor and been issued with a NHS medical card? If so, that's a good one to include.

Hes got the life in the UK test pass and also has a doctors letter and NHS medical card. We will have been married for over 7 years at the time of the application for ILR, so do you think I should enclose my marriage certificate for further evidence, or will they have it on their system?

Also if we submit an application at a PEO do they return documents there and then or are they forwarded after?

If we lodge an application for ILR at a PEO can we get an appointment for the 28 days before the date of his 2 years in the UK. So he arrived in the UK 18th Feb, 2009 can we book an appointment for anytime after 21st Jan 2011.

P.S.
When my husband becomes eligible for Citizenship on 18th February 2012, his Iranian passport will expire two months later on 10th April, 2012. Will he have to renew his Iranian passport or will there be no problem with applying for citizenship.

I know its a long way in front but just trying to find out the info now.

If you apply in person, 90% of applications are decided on the day, and they check your documents and hand them back to you. You've got the application dates right...but if you want to apply at a PEO start calling the appointment line 6 weeks before the January qualifying date. You can include your marriage certificate...better more than less.
Regulations are due to change for BC...probably by June 2011..but as it stands at the moment, if your husband hasn't applied for Citizenship before his Iranian passport expires, he'll need to renew it. He can carry both passports (one with the ILR visa) and the new one...or pay for it to be transferred.

My husband applied in March this year for ILR. We included our Marriage Certificate in with his application. He got granted ILR. He applied by post and included in with his postal application a prepaid special delivery envelope for them to return all the documents that had submitted which they did.
