Cost of living, School for children, and general culture..

English but in some areas they speak Gaelic

How is the working culture in Scotland? Is it a open society? How do they treat migrant workers?

I lived in Scotland for nearly ten years and it's a fine place.

As I'm English I was open for a lot of friendly rivalry and sometimes it could get out of hand. Especially regarding football!!

Central belt is like anywhere else really but glorious countryside is only a few miles away. I lived in the Borders which was lovely but somewhat boring after a while.

Schools are different to Englsih school, they start a year later which is a bit of a bugger if you have a young child, plus the curricula doesn't follow English ones which can lead to issues if you move to England as I did. Nothing insurmountable though. On the whole I felt Scottish schooling was better but that may have been cos I lived in a small town/village.

All the time I was there I never heard one word of Scots Gaelic!

I was considering a job in Linlithgow but decided against it and moved back home to England because the football is sooooo much better.
