Long Residence ILR

Post by mitra_krishna » Tue Sep 15, 2020 12:08 am

Dear all,

I am single (no children, or dependants), no mortgage or house, etc. and am applying for ILR through the 10 year route. I was a student before and now working. I was wondering what to answer to the question " Do you have any other reasons for wanting to stay in the UK?" as the instructions provided are about medical reasons or children welfare. I searched the forum for an answer, however, most were related to partners/ spouses, children, human rights, etc. I could not find something which is applicable to my situation.

Should I write "no" or should I mention "yes" and then provide reasons. My reasons are professional in nature, basically it is about the innovative research I do here and the opportunities which exist for such types of project in the UK (with its cutting edge research and innovation areas).

I would be very grateful for a response / advice,
Mitra

There is absolutely no requirement to answer that question at all unless you are not eligible normally and you have exceptional circumstances :!:

Long Residence ILR

Post by mitra_krishna » Tue Oct 13, 2020 9:53 am

Dear all,

I am quoting a few words which I picked up from a recent response by @Cullinam

" Your employer will be able to carry out an ECS check once you provide your employer with the UAN. It will come back fine. The ECS check will be valid for 6 months before the employer needs to carry it out again.
Tier 2 can take 2 weeks to 6 months on standard route"

My contract ends on October 31, 2020 (TIER 2) and there is no extension of the contract. Current TIER 2 visa ends on 14 November 2020. I have already applied for ILR in September as I have stayed in the UK for 10 years (no complications in the application). I have now read the website related to ECS, it needs permission from the employee to do an ECS check.

1) As I would no more be employed by my current employer (post 31 October), do I need to undergo an ECS check? I have provided the UAN to the current employer as they wanted to know about my future plans (I did not know about ECS then).
2) Yet to get a job offer in the UK, however, can I take up any other job with another employer till the ILR decision comes through? Job offers during this pandemic are rare, therefore, I would like to indicate to a new employer, I am immediately available to work.

All help and suggestions are gratefully received.

1. Your existing tier 3 conditions continue while an application is or ding with HO under section 3C of the immigration rules. Your employer can do RCS if they wish to.

2. No you cannot work for anyone else until you are granted ILR and BRP. You can only work for your tier 2 sponsor while waiting for a decision on your ilr.

TNT courier

Post by mitra_krishna » Sat Feb 06, 2021 4:56 pm

Hi all, have you faced issues with TNT delivery of BRP? My BRP was to be delivered yesterday (05/02/2021) and I was waiting at home, however, I get a mail that they missed me, I immediately booked for today , however, no sign of courier, no tracking option too. In fact, yesterday, it showed the driver had collected it, today, even that is not visible. I visited trustpilot website and there are more than 80% negative reviews. I have left a mail to TNT, however, was wondering whether any one of had any similar issue. Best regards. KM
