No longer needing to have been present 5 years ago???

Post by drakkan » Tue May 07, 2019 11:19 am

Hi there

A while ago it used to be that when you would apply to become a British citizens by naturalisation, you had to ensure that you were present in the UK exactly 5 years prior to the application being received. It looks like some changes were made in April and I am not sure if this still applies. I couldn't read about this anywhere. Can someone please confirm? Thanks.

What changes are you referring to exactly?? Useful to post a link to what you are referring to.

Note that the requirement is still in place. The date that is relevant is the date of application, which with the new system is the online form submission and payment.
