Looking for some advice on leave to remain (m)

Looking for some advice on leave to remain (m)

Hi there

My partner and i got married back in 2016 and he is here in the uk living with me. He initially came in on a fiance visa. We then got married and he was awarded FLR (M) which is due to be renewed in 2019.

I believe he is on the 5 year route currently.

I recently had a baby with my husband and was wondering is this still the correct way to apply? When we renew in 2019 it will for his second period of leave to remain. I was wondering if there was now a different route we could take that would allow him indefinate leave to remain sooner than the 5 year route or is the 5 year route still the option we have to take.

This is your husband's 5 year route to ILR and there is no quicker option, even though you now have a child together.

Was just wondering because i remember when we were in the visa centre last time there was a thing on the tv in there about a high court ruling and families but at the time we didnt have the baby so never really paid much attention

The Immigration Rules changed on the 9th July 2012. If you had applied before then it would only have been a 2 year route to ILR. There isn't (and hasn't been) any shorter route to ILR due to having a child.
