Lost BRP, applying citizenship

Post by shuma95 » Wed Jul 24, 2024 10:31 am

Hi,

I am due to apply for citizenship, I was granted ilr in October 2023. I have lost my brp and have reported it to home office, my question is am I able to apply for citizenship without brp? I filled in most of the form and it does ask if you have a brp, but does not ask for it in mandatory documents or anywhere else? Just need someone to confirm please before I spend £1600.

Thanks!

The passport is the only mandatory document, the BRP card is within the "other documents" section. However if you declare that you are unable to provide a BRP card with the application, I guess this document will not appear in the "other documents" list.

OK thanks, I know that after citizenship need to return brp, so it's safe to assume I can go ahead with my citizenship without it?
